2000th Post Contest... Boxes ripped & scans posted!

Hello friends!
It's about that time - 2000 posts! I'm excited to be a part of such a great community of collectors, and I wanted to give a little something back on this fine 4th of July.
Here's the deal - I'm giving away an unopened box of 1985 Leaf (baseball) to the first board member that posts the correct answer to my question. Only one guess per member. The catch... You must rip the box and share scans of the pulls on this thread for the rest of the board to enjoy. I know we all love a good box break, so I thought it was an opportunity to give back to the board twice. This box will be from the same group of boxes that I broke recently - '85 Leaf Break thread, and from what I've seen so far these boxes are yielding some dynamite cards.

![image](http://packgeek.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/85_leaf_box_31.jpg)
The question: I was fortunate enough to attend a World Series game with my father back in the 80s. We attended Game #2 of the series - and unfortunately, the hometown team (our team) lost that game. However, our team made an amazing comeback in the series and ended up taking home the crown. Name the MVP of this World Series?

Please enjoy the family hair helmets - all the men in our family rock them. Happy 4th!

Yep this was my guess too.
Mike, you going to be able to rip that box without assistance? LOL

Looks like my guess is very popular. I picked him because he was also a Met although didn't quite have the same results as with the Royals. You guys know this will kill me to rip this box if I win, but I'll take one for the team.

I have mastered the easy giveaway question. That took 12 minutes. Mike - are you sure you can bring yourself to ripping this thing? That's a deal-breaker for me. I will allow you to keep any packs you find with stars showing, though.

Looking to BUY n332 1889 SF Hess cards and high grade cards from 19th century especially. "Once you have wrestled everything else in life is easy" Dan Gable

Thanks for the offering up the contest along with the trivia question. I had to go online and see everyone who lost game 2 but who ended up winning the series. That and those haircuts gave the timeline away. lol Thanks again Jeff and its a pleasure to have you on these boards amongst us.
Marc
Update: Wow Jeff, I was not expecting a giveaway also for the 2nd runner up. Dude, I would LOVE to rip open a box and post scans. You just made my day!!!
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
<< <i>Don't worry, from what I heard from last year's National, Mike is no stranger to ripping.. >>
I didn't realize Mike had a dark side. Good to know!
PM's sent to the winners. Thanks for everyone who participated in my ridiculously easy game of baseball trivia.

Those are blatant lies, but I actually do not have a Leaf set so I promise to rip it open and post my hits. And Marc, I'll swap any dups I get with you so we might be able to both get a complete set. I actually debated about participating for a few minutes, but then decided what the heck.
Btw, Happy 4th of July to you too Jeff and everyone else on the board!!! Congrats on hitting 2,000, but now you'll have to move on.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

<< <i>Jeff ... I live close to Mike ... maybe I'll supervise the rip and make sure they all get opened. I don't want him running to a local card show and paying $2.00 for a couple hundred '85 Leafs and showing them on this thread! LOL >>
Doug - I think that sounds like a good plan. If all he has to post is three Near Mint Fernando Valenzuela's - I'm gonna be suspicious.

I must be getting old as I didn't even think about doing that. I'll have either Doug and/or Eric come over although my son Zachary is excited to finally get to rip something open other than the junk wax I give him.
Edited to add: Scratch Eric, I'll see you next weekend Doug.

Enjoy fellas, can't wait to see the results!
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet
I haven't opened anything yet but I did check the back of the packs. I didn't have any star power showing except for the 1 card that Mike wanted and I promised him he would get if my box contained it. A pack with a Dwight Gooden showing on the back - and sure enough, I got one. So I will be ripping open 35 packs instead of 36.
Mike and I have decided to rip open at 9pm EST Tuesday night so if you guys have nothing to do, we will be doing a live rip here with a couple of updates and scans/pictures in between.
I want to again thank Jeff for the win-win resolution with his generous offering by giving up not 1 but 2 boxes up for grabs and also making sure the members on this board get in on the action by having us ripping open and scanning for all the members to see.
Thanks again Jeff.
Missing 1 pack because the Gooden was put aside for Mike.
Hard to see but when the wrapper is pressed up on the card, you can cleary see Dwight Eugene Gooden showing through.
Jeff
I'm expecting record viewership tonight at 9pm EST as it is not everyday (or anyday) that I rip packs. And no, this rip is only limited to the box Jeff sent me.

Keep in mind this is only HALF of the packs open. Lots of star power here. Still no Mr. Puckett but if I keep getting sharp Clemens like these, then Mr. Puckett being a no-show would be no problem.. I like the Clemens all the way on the right the best. I think it has a shot at the big 10. The other might also but I think I'm at least looking at 3 9's if anything.
Sorry, I cut the bottom out a bit with my scanner. Cards are very well centered however.
Found them.

Looks like quality control issues on one of the packs as it only had a puzzle piece. Have any of you guys had that happen to you before?

I think he's still lighting the Candles while Enya is being played in the background while the packs prepare for seranation.
<< <i> Mike, Do you have those packs on your bed? Please tell me your not ripping wax packs on your bed! >>
Maybe he's tucking them in and saying good night. We still haven't seen one card.

Mike, You better be fully clothed right now~!
Sorry for the delay. Believe it or not, I'm having computer issues tonight.
Here is the first pack I ripped after much hesitation.
