I'm pretty sure there was a thread on these months ago.

    I've got a 100g silver version that's about 3" x 4" with 100 1g silver bars in it. Valcambi

Interesting gimmick but it's still an overpriced novelty item so I'll pass.

Is It worth it to assay one of these every time you question its authenticity? Not so much. These will be counterfeited and also - harder to authenticate. No threat of government anti-counterfeiting enforcement, either.

Anyone know how easy these are to separate? How close will each piece be to its marked weight?

Not for me.... just does not measure up to a coin...and as PerryHall questioned, breakage may vary the weight, counterfeiting could/will be rampant. Cheers, RickO

For a SHTF scenario, .900 silver coins, ASE's and tenth oz AGE's make more sense than breaking off chunks from a silver bar..

The link in the OP shows a gold card being cut up/separated.
Does not look hard and appears to separate as designed so weight of each piece will not be a factor especially considering the scenario these cards are supposed to be used in...ie, the end of paper currancy!
    Agree however....overpriced.

I think I could 'make' the Silver mini-bars with some Reynolds's Wrap and 'package' them with Saran Wrap

I'd like to have a 50 or better yet a 25 block. Just for the fun of it, or to even give out individual pieces as gifts.

However, the hype is embarrassing. Get gold to hedge or even take a chance at gain.

But if you go into a gas station likely throughout your lifetime, you better have plastic or US bills,
    because that's what they take!

I wouldn't mind owning one if I could find one on the secondary market close to melt.

Anyone have any idea what the premiums over spot these are being sold for?

APMEX has them on their eBay store. They should be cheaper on their website.

So about a 10% premium on ebay?

What is Peter Schiffs "world renowned precious metals firm" selling them for? Anyone know?

Silver ones are about 15% over melt. I paid a little over $100 for mine last month.
