Yes!! Wow nice reverse! Dead give away is the mintmark position and the obvious 1/2 leg! What does the obv look like?

    Congrats!

Definitely the 3 1/2 Leg variety, and really hard to find with a full horn. Nice pickup!

I thought the 36-D 3 1/2 leg variety had the almost missing rear leg due to die erosion, not the front leg like the 37-D?

Nope-the front leg, exactly like the '37-D, just to a lesser degree. It's also a legitimate die abrasion error, too-one of six total 3 1/2 legged coins to be found in this series.

    Thanks for the explaination.
Too bad about the rim hits on the OP's coin, but I assume these 36D 3.5 legs are like hen's teeth and that doesn't knock it too much.

  • Thanks all - your inputs are greatly appreciated.
The coin was picked up at a local Florida flea-market for ------------------------------------------------------------------------$5.00. It is not mine but a good friend scored this one.
