The 100 oz bar seems to be the favored choice of most serious buyers of means. I have several 100 oz bars but I agree that the 10 oz size is more practical and makes the most sense for the great majority of bullion buyers. Someone voted 1000 oz in the poll. Can you tell us about it?

They weigh a little over 62 pounds and they are difficult to move. These are mostly used by industry rather than for the average investor.

I've owned 3- 100 oz. Engelhard extruded bars in the plastic boxes. Sold them in between $17-18/oz to some board members when silver was on it's way up.

5 kilo Perth mint bars. They stack well with the 100 oz bars.

In such a relatively small package they seem quite heavy. Have you ever picked up and held an 100 oz bar?

Times have indeed changed. I remember buying a Monarch 50oz bar a few years ago (when they opened I think) for $900 delivered.

I have kept all my purchases at 10oz or less just for that very reason.
<< <i>I have a preference for 10 oz bars. They are easy to buy and sell. >>
I plan to own one by years end...lol. I am keeping my goals pretty simple these days.
I had to lie and say 1 oz because it was the closest choice.

Decent premium above spot for common ones, premiums still attached to harder to find styles/brands.

Never had myself. I would be curious to "feel" a 10 oz gold bar!
Now it's 10oz ones.
