Eric- After viewing the last photos, I now see what you mean. I agree with you that the magnified flip would not look like that normally w/o some type of manipulation ( I guess ). But at the end of the day, I don't care if they manipulated how WHITE the flip appears.
Do you have similar photos that show where any aspect of the card has been manipulated in a similar fashion? If so, then I agree that its a problem. If its just the flips that they are making whiter, then who cares.
<< <i>Even if you are right- and who the hell knows if you are- "presenting the item in the best possible light" and "manipulating the appearance of the item" are two very, very different things. I haven't seen anything that would indicate that the seller is manipulating the appearance of the item.
Also, if you were that upset about this supposed deception...... why in the world would you be upset that he blocked you? >>
That's easy to answer...
I've never, then or now, claimed to be upset about this supposed deception!
Go back to page 1, post #6... This thread was about their amazing closing prices... I merely hypothesized that maybe they were getting higher prices than other because the manipulation done to their images made the items they were selling "appear" better than other comparable examples on eBay. I never, never, never intended to imply that they were doctoring images to hide flaws and/or imperfections (if people have read into it that way, I apologize, that was not my intent)... yet, I got blocked anyway. >>
Eric, I'm with you on this they are for sure enhancing their scans to make them present crystal clean and clear. Being someone who does the same tricks with Photoshop it easy to do and does give cards a nice pop, not sure why they did not say they do this but they are. It’s just not possible with any scanner to scan something as clean as what they are presenting in their listings.
Out of 100 eBay sellers, how many of us would take advantage of the scanner we have to look our card look a little brighter, fulller, stand out more? Most of us I'd think. This is being blown up in an unnecessary way, but that's just my opinion. My experience with Brent and PWCC has been top notch

just as a side note I could careless what is done to the scans but saying they come off the scanner that way is not really true.
Whenever I sell on ebay I always mess with the image in Photoshop. When I say mess I mean make the flip whiter and also improve the clarity of the scan.
Well...this auction finished last night. Seller with very low feedback - mainly dealing a few concert tickets. Horrible scan = 525.00 for an Ozzie 9 (I have to wonder how much he left on the table, but I am grateful to finally get this card on the cheap).
Thanks Kurt, interesting...the 400.00 Ozzie looks a bit o/c l/r...the one I won looks well centered but the scan is so poor thus 400-550.00 sounds about right for the market? So I guess the PWCC was more about their mass following (insert Probstein as well) than the inherent value of the card? I remember 4 or more people were bidding higher than 600.00 on the PWCC auction

If you think something fishy is going on, consign YOUR cards to PWCC. When it hammers, draw your own conclusion.

Always plenty of PSA-graded cards in my ebay store -- https://ebay.com/str/thelumbercompanysportscards

Another 9
These seem to vary some to me...I would still call $525 pretty good.
Looks like one was an attempted flip? Best offer
