Show off your uncut sheets.

In honor of the thread about cards from uncut sheets, I thought it would be fun to share some photos of uncut sheets. I have 1982 Topps Ripken, 1983 Topps Gwynn and 1989 UD Griffey here in my office, but they are sadly sitting rolled up. So for now, here's my 1971 Topps sheet. My personal favorite.

Hopefully we will see a bunch of nice sheet photos follow.

Looks like a 1st series sheet to me as I believe I see Petey. image

Great looking sheet Scott. Only problem with them is they are so expensive to frame. I saw a bunch at last year's National, but I'm flying in this year so that will not work if I find one I like. Could always have them ship it to me though. image

According to a REA auction, it has two cards each of Jackson, Niekro, Rose, Blyleven, Mazeroski, and Munson.

    Niiiice.

It does have the cards mentioned above. This sheet, however, has minimal value. There is some type of non-factory coating on the cards. You probably wouldn't be able to tell, but it's there.

Funny story - I had this framed up by a guy at the local swap meet, believe it or not. Cost less than $100. No adhesives. He actually does a lot of sports framing and I've used him for other stuff.

Sorry for double post - you can see the Rose and Reggie cards on the far left column. The Munsons are on the far right column.

  • Very nice. Looking at that - and after this whole sheet cut debate, I wouldn't mind owning one. They are definitely unique.

I've posted this '61 partial sheet before, but I think it's
pretty cool. I guess I need to frame it up.

Scott, that is a great price and no adhesives is a must for these. Too bad I'm on the other coast. Need to check out some swap meets I guess.

I really liked the '83 set so I bought two sets uncut. I used to have a 15 card sheet of semi-high '52's but I sold it about 10 years ago, I regret that I did that everyday.image Nice stuff guys. Doug

That boxing sheet is way cool and your collection.......incredible!
  • ReggieClevelandReggieCleveland Posts: 3,818 ✭✭✭✭✭
I was wondering when Griffins would chime in. Just ridiculous. I've been lucky enough to see some of those in person and they're incredible.

I'm not even sure if they count but I have a complete uncut strip of W529 and W551. Too big for my scanner though. Oh, I also have a few uncut strips of 1955 All American Sports Club, the basketball cards and the boxers.
  • GriffinsGriffins Posts: 6,076 ✭✭✭
Reggie, those count. If nothing else shoot a picture with your phone. I'll be happy to shoot them if you want to bring them over.
Esq, how much did that cost to get matted and framed? Did you do it locally or online?
I'm slowly framing a lot of mine but I was blown away how much it costs- the '41 display was $500 and they damaged it, it took 4 months and it's still dinged.
Definitely figuring in the cost of framing when I bid on framed pieces these days.

I agree Barry. I think that looks better uncut with the background matching up. Great stuff Anthony.

I am not a fan of one card being horizontal on an uncut sheet when the rest are vertical but that '53 Bowman sheet with the Pee Wee up top? NICE.
