Customers are frequently wrong - it is then how the situation is managed that determines if they will continue to be customers. imageimage Cheers, RickO

Coin dealers, much like scientists and doctors, do find themselves in the precarious situation of, in the vast majority of the time, knowing so much more than the average customer that it can at times give rise to sort of a god-like complex.

Not that there's anything wrong with that image

Invariably, a little knowledge can be a very dangerous thing. image

Ouch. My head is splitting trying to absorb so much profound wisdom all in one thread. Sometimes the customer is LEFT overwhelmed.

Did you hear the one about the coin collector who died and went to heaven? He gets up there, and there is an old guy, running around with a double row box of coins, trying to make deals here and there. The coin collector immediately realizes that he has come to right place, and he turns and asks St. Peter, "Who was that coin dealer on earth before, you know, he passed on?"

St. Peter replies, "Oh, gosh, no, that's no coin dealer. That's God. He just likes to pretend that he is a coin dealer."

There is something wrong with that when said dealer is very arrogant about it (I am thinking of several in particular) and does not know more than the customer re a particular coin and potential sale. I refuse to do business with these kind of dealers. Fortunately, I have only met several of them.
