<< <i>Card's a beauty, but if you knew how the game is played, then you'd understand your chances are slim and none. >>
I think I am still in a little bit of denial about not wanting to know that game lol

<< <i>It's nice! I would accept the 9 rather than chancing a regrade. >>
They do not downgrade do they? Are you saying chancing an 8?

<< <i>Love the card! Unfortunately I do not believe it's a review candidate. I will say it's a GREAT example of a TOUGH card!
Enjoy that one as it sits.

Thanks Justin, I will. It won't get a 10. I accept that. I just think it's the nicest 9 I've ever seen and better than the only 10, so had it reviewed on principle

<< <i>I agree with everyone else. I don't see a 10 there. Especially in light of how famous this issue is. As it comes into the grading room, every grader is going to think long and hard about giving any of these a 10. >>
Can someone explain to me how famous this issue is or what that means. Thanks
TheClockworkAngelCollection
It is one of the most famous trading cards that exist.
The graders have to know there has only been one graded Gem Mint and therefore the assertion is that they will be leery of awarding one a Gem Mint grade.

Are you serious?
A PSA 9 Sells for 5000-8000 american dollars. And A PSA 10 Sells for $100,000.00 american dollars.
Very tough in Gem which the numbers show. If I were to spend 100k on a perfect card. I would be extreamly picky. even the smell of the card might make me think it was VG. JK. But 100k come on.

Yes, I was serious. I just wasn't sure if there was an interesting story behind the only PSA 10. Of course, I know there is only 1 and it is one opf the most famous cards in the hobby. I just wasn't sure if there was any more to it that was "interesting"
Does anyone know who owns the only 10?
TheClockworkAngelCollection
Anyhow, thinking about it from a risk/reward perspective, I'd definitely try to get a 10 (but might be nervous about breaking it out). Talk about a windfall if it came through. Are you thinking of a resubmission holdered or broken out?
I thought it was an interesting that one person looked at the Oilers logo as a basis not to give it a 10. Is team logo centering a consideration? I've never considered that, to be honest.
Your Gretzky is a beautiful card and I wish you luck!
