USPS consistently delivers in 2-3 days for me nationwide. >>
I was actually referring to loggage at PSA as packages shipped via fed ex are typically logged in same day or next day instead of 1-2 weeks.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
To put this into perspective: If PSA returned an "irreplaceable" card in a soft/non-ridged holder and oversized box without any protection (ie foam, bubble wrap, etc), the peanut gallery would be up in arms with torches and pitchforks.
Good luck with your claim. If insurance process was explained to you, I strongly suggest you read the fine print ASAP.

I avoid USPS like the plague. I will gladly pay extra for UPS, The USPS won't even attempt to deliver anything larger than an oversized bubble envelope and the line at the PO is usually north of a half an hour. They suck and I hope they all develop allergies to alcohol.
Psa return shipping packaging as sucked lately. I got back 60 cards in 5 of the Psa boxes they use packed inside a priority large flat rate box with minimal packing paper inside. They were sliding everywhere inside!!! Not good Psa!!

Greg- I know how happy you were when you got that card. I am sick seeing the damage that was done. But they way that card was bent?? If another box fell on yours, the card had to be sitting upright in your box to have been bent like that. Otherwise, my initial though was that it was done on purpose. It just looks too messed up! I guess at this point you should have it graded "Authentic" instead of with a number grade.

PSA is already ripping us off on shipping charges, so why not squeeze us even more by saving on packaging material? But that's what you get when you do business with "ho's".....
<< <i>I got a package back from PSA last month and the box was hammered!!! Came from USPS. I lucked out because that corner of the box was filled in with heavy paper and the graded cards were on the other side. I hate the way PSA returns graded cards, not enough padding! >>
Maybe you could request they put them in and envelope instead.
I'm still fighting w/ the insurance company. They want to see proof of payment, however I paid via paypal with my credit card and paypal history only goes back 3 months and I don't have the credit card statements. I talked w/ the credit card company last week and they are mailing me a copy of the Dec 2011 statement - so hopefully that should be sufficient for the refund to be paid.
Since several people asked about how I shipped the card - I had the card in a CS1 and wrapped the order sheet around the card and secured with a rubber band. In retrospect, I should have secured the card better; however I figured the card would be safe inside of a heavy, cardboard box. Also, it's doubtful whether putting a cardboard insert behind the card or wrapping it in bubble wrap would have protected the card considering the level of damage to the box.

Think the lesson is don't put a single card, secured only by a CS1 and rubber band, in a large box.

I have finally figured out what every was talking about on the HOF auto thread. I am sorry to see that, it just sickens me. I have worried about that issue many times. Thankfully my USPS shipments have always been fine. I would say that wrapping the card in cardboard probably wouldnt have made a difference. Maybe a little less creased but still creased.
I don't use cardboard either. Though I fully fill boxes with either peanuts or bubble wrap. Though I am not sure either would have made a difference. I don't understand why COs won't let you ship high end cards in the magnetic holders. That probably would have prevent this issue.

Sorry to hear your card was destroyed.

good question. I had no problem seeing my transactions back to 2010. Perhaps the OP is using the less user-friendly PayBuddy?
