OK good to know im not the only one with a processing order still. Had to cancel one of my orders as I wanted to buy another gold piece, but my first order for 1 $10 is still in. I wonder if I will get to see it in 2013 hah.
<< <i>I cancelled my order a couple days ago. It was just a 1913 $10. There should be plenty of them around in a few months if it's still tempting. >>
Did the Canadian Mint ever state how many would be sold to collectors and how many melted? Will they just sell what they can and melt those that are not sold?
I seem to recall some website stating that 70% would be melted and 30% sold, but I don't find that info on the Mint website.
As mentioned earlier in the thread, out of approx. 245,000 coins in the hoard, 30,000 will be sold and the balance melted.

<< <i>I happen to think the label is very appropriate. It was designed by a Canadian and reflects the period during which the coins were struck. The shield is the same shield that is on the coin. The Canadian dealer who is handling the distribution for all the coins agrees wholeheartedly.
Of course if you don't like the label you can have it holdered with a standard blue label.
The first shipments will arrive at PCGS next week. >>
Has there been any word yet as to whom this dealer is?

<< <i>I believe the 1913/1914 $10 have never gone "off" sale......
My opinion is that there will be more to melt - I cant see the RCM letting them "run" for long......
>>
Sadly, what is more likely to happen is that, being a greedy governmental agency, even Canadian, any "left overs" will be quietly disposed over in a fire sale to the favored dealer(s) involved. So, while you and I may have paid $1000 each, they will likely get them for spot price or just barely above. Shave $100+ off what we paid. Then, they will be for sale at, or below what we paid, by the dealer(s), and if you are trying to flip them, you will find stiff competition and be wondering why anyone would sell for less than they paid (but they won't be doing that...they will have paid much less)

If you are in the USA and are waiting for the RCM to deliver something, you'd better pack a lunch. I stopped ordering from them due to the ridiculous waiting times for my orders.
If you cancelled $5's you could have made a few bucks. RCM Isn't always slow. I ordered 3 of the last $20's for $20 and had them at my door in Chicago 4 days after placing the order.
They should really be skyrocketing soon. I just cancelled my last order. Given how they are being distributed, through a dealer, and how long it is taking (the euphoria wore off), and the fact that, while the cool factor was there for something put away and just now coming to light, I don't collect canadian nor do I focus on gold (and, I would rather put the funds toward something else).
So, since I cancelled, they should become a flipper's paradise

Has there ever been any explanation of who the dealer involved is and/or how much control he has had over who gets what?

I don't understand how the dealers are involved in distribution when they are being shipped from the RCM. When the hockey pucks were shipped they were shipped from the distributors.
I was wrong. FedEx delivers Express Saver not USPS. Mine was just delivered. Return address is Shipping Supervisor Bay Brokerage, Wellesley-Island, NY 13640. Looks like someone other than RCM is shipping these out.
Just checked out my coin (don't ask for pics, I have a doctors appointment in an hour and twenty minutes). Very pleased. Solid unc either a high end 2 or average 3. Either way the eye appeal is all you could hope for. Blazing luster and only small tics no spots. Only looks 2 when you use a glass. Looks solid 3 at arms length. Those premium coins could be worth the money. I haven't checked what a MS64/5 1913/14 $10 is worth.

Mine is a 1913 $5. Nice presentation for a no frill price. Black snap box. Black outer cardboard box. COA. 2 holograms on the sides of a thicker than usual airtite (or maybe I've don't remember how thick airtites are). A nice looking coin.

<< <i>Does the mint allow returns? Just curious. I also want to see more pics. This is like the lottery here. >>
No returns accepted.
<< <i>Sure would be nice to see both sides, and not at a distance...just sayin. >>
There was an obverse pic as well (not bad either) - i'll try to go back and post the link from the forum it appeared on......
again guys - not my pics, just posted from collectors who received 1912 coins.....but the latest pics show nice luster and very little marks......
my opinion is that there WILL BE MS63/64 coins in the group - not just baggy 61-62's as some naysayers expect.......
and I have one more statement....for the naysayers......
YOU SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT 'EM WHEN YOU HAD THE CHANCE..........

You mean the fivers right? As they have lower pops? The tens are still for sale oddly enough.

What we really need from the RCM is net mintage figures........

Everyone - so far - who has received the coins has confirmed shipment from the RCM.
So - the dealer/distributor shipper seems to be a rumor at best.
