That Looper movie had lots of silver bullion in it.

People in the future get paid will what looked like kilo bars of silver. The main character was stashing tons of the stuff in a hidden compartment under his house. It was pretty cool to look at!

Sure, but you couldn't wear it like a bullet proof vest such as Bruce Willis does with the silver.

At the sheer amount being sent back in time with each job, it couldn't have been worth
that much in the future. I mean they were sending back huge amounts, not just 1oz coins.
But it was a message about useless fiat money in the future.
The PM amounts and values weren't really focused on in the movie, rather more
of a bling thing. But nice to see some future thinking is showing PMs used as a real value
transfer instead of paper. Now if they have lots of current-time US dollars lying around
in the future (worthless to them), they could have sent a load back in time.
Coincidentally,...
if anybody way way up in the future that has a lot of old currency they want to get rid of, send
it back to me at this current time. Perferably in the $400k range, I'll send you my current
PMs in return (and more where that came from too). Just saying, if you get me.
Don't mention in the BST.. Contact me directly... Wink...

<< <i>"Closing the loop" in the movie is a misnomer, because by sending the looper back in time to be killed, they're just perpetuating the "loop". If they really wanted to "close the loop" then you'd kill off the looper in the present time so that he doesn't even make it to the future to be sent back in time to be killed. But then you wouldn't have a story to tell. >>
That's what happened when the looper committed harry carry....
