Just an interesting day --- with a cool find

So I knew this morning that the first part of my day was going to be busy, and it didn't disappoint.
I sold a few coins this week and knew I had a few minutes between the PO opening this morning, and before a trip to the range with one of my employees and his wife to help introduce them to handguns. I wanted to get those coins out today, so I had the kitchen cleaned up, the guns packed and was at the PO a few minutes after it opened.
Everything went as planned, and it was an enjoyable day, where I felt useful and helpful. I got my packages off, talked with my daughter in Seattle while driving across town to meet up with my friends at the range, and arrived just as they did. My friends wife had never handled a firearm, but by the days end I was very impressed with her abilities and handling of the various handguns we shot. He's kind of like my adopted son in a way, and he did very well too (he hadn't shot in 10 years). They are considering buying one, and I think I started them off on the right path, both with instruction and important (to me anyway) thoughts I have on the subject, and it made me feel good.
Anyway, while I was at the post office, paying my tab, I spied 4 half dollars in the register, and knew one was worthwhile, so I asked if I could buy them. The clerk was happy to be rid of them, but gave me a quirky look. I told him they were fun to give out sometimes, especially for the looks they recieved ... and wilth Halloween this week, what better time? I gave him two greenbacks and squirreled the halves in my pocket with hardly a second glance.
Yep, I knew it was a good one, but I just remembered I had it in my pocket.

“We are only their care-takers,” he posed, “if we take good care of them, then centuries from now they may still be here … ”

Unfortunately those times occur less and less.
Nice find!
