wild crazy day, ended great, but a few of the coins I was supposed to ship today may be late

fishteethfishteeth Posts: 2,263 ✭✭✭✭✭
First off, a few of you were supposed to have coins shipped this morning, well they may be a couple of days late

Today was the wildest day of my life. My wife was due to have a baby Nov 5th, but things changed quickly this morning.
awoken at 5 am with my wife "thinking" she might be in labor so she was going to skip her 3 mile run (us runners are crazy)
2 hours later we were on the way to the hospital, 30 minute drive, when suddenly she said "baby is coming, call 911". This was at 8:45 am.
Called 911, met the EMTs at a Super 8 motel parking lot and at 8:58 had a perfect screaming little girl right there in the parking lot. Came very close to delivering the baby myself (my dentist skills would have been sooooo useful). Luckily 5 minutes before baby popped out the EMTs arrived and did their thing.
turns out it was their first time ever having to deliver a baby and they were in almost as much shock as us. Wife did great, but will definitely leave for the hospital quicker with future kids.

20 minutes later we were finally the hospital and the baby checked out great and everything is going well. Should go home in 48hrs and will try and get coins shipped shortly after

So here is Piper Hellen 6 lbs 6 oz and 19.5 inch long

You cheated an OB out of their fee for the delivery! Well done.

    Glad everything worked out OK.

The math for how much work children require is taken from the Richter scale. I stole this directly from Wikipedia. Check it out:

1 kid = Felt by many indoors, dishes and doors disturbed.
2 kids = Felt by nearly everyone. People awakened. Cracked walls, trees disturbed.
3 kids = Felt by all. Many run outdoors. Furniture moves. Slight damage occurs.
4 kids = Everyone runs outdoors. Moderate to major damage. Minor damage to specially designed buildings. Chimneys and walls collapse.
5 kids = Major damage. Structures destroyed. Ground is badly cracked. Landslides occur.
More than 5 kids = Total destruction. Ground surface waves seen. Objects thrown into the air. All construction destroyed.

Very strange coincidence. I typed my response above a few minutes before hearing about the 'quake in New England. I hope everyone's OK.

Right O! I'll never get over how a woman can look like a million bucks in a photo after undergoing what she just went through. Your wife's a trooper...and so are you.

That is NOT a good enough excuse for mailing my coins late!

Actually it is a great excuse - coingrats to you, your wife, and your new princessimage

Well I'm glad my coin was shipped out last week..... image

Big Congrats to you and your wife!!! My wife is due right at Christmas with our first. Even though she's got to have a planned c-section, you can bet that I'll be CLOSE to hospital starting at about December 1st!!! Might even camp out in the parking lot until the due date.......especially after this story!

    Congrats!

One of my sisters-in-law had her second in a college dorm (my brother had gone back to college to get his degree, and it was the family dorm). A nursing student from across the hall, who was supposed to be babysitting the older boy, supervised until the emt's got there.

And the doctor who was supposed to do the delivery at the local hospital, who they had already called, sent them a bill for a delivery!
