--Poll: If you have a coin that is not quite there for a re-grade up one, which would you prefer?**

Which upgrade is the most valuable to a collector?

If it is an OGH, I just send it for a possible sticker.
Still, the answer is situationally dependent. A sticker or plus means an enormous amount if you're talking about Barber Halves in MS66 grades. Here, I think the "plus" is better. If you're talking about common-date Peace Dollars in MS64, it really doesn't mean much and getting either "upgrade" is mostly an academic exercise. Remember though that it's all subjective. Grading is very consistent when considering large numbers of coins, but darn-near anything can happen to a single coin on any given day.
<< <i>You should revise your poll, because NGC gives plus grades, too, as well as a star. It is possible to have a coin at NGC grade MS66+*, for example. >>
Thanks, I will.

<< <i>I don't consider a CAC sticker an upgrade, it just confirms the accuracy of the grade on the holder in the opinion of those that put the sticker on the slab. But a plus is defintiely an upgrade. And I think a star would be as well. >>
While I agree with this logic the market so far has added alot of value for a bean in many instances.

In addition CAC will not consider everything that NGC & PCGS will grade. I really don't understand why CAC has managed to do so well. I have no CAC stickers. I will not bid more for a coin with a sticker. Most of the coins I have were acquired before CAC started.
I can't comment re the plus, because I don't think it has penetrated the market enough to date for me to have an opinion on it.

<< <i>Personally I would pay hecka more for a plus than a CAC sticker, but the poll results are telling. I guess I'd be a fool not to sticker my coins prior to a sale, as it would seem there is no shortage bean suckers in the marketplace. >>
Matt, are you still removing the beans from their holders? I thought I read that in one of your posts some time ago.
Lance.
However as others have said, PCGS + and the CAC sticker would be the best.
