One box out of nine had neither. But it did have Darvish and Harper plus a platinum CJ Wilson so it washed fine. 3 autos in the nine include Pagan, Billingsley, and Escobar.
I have opened three boxes and got 2 autos (Reddick and Pagan) and one relic (Butler from KC), one in each box. Each box also had a printing plate in it. Got two of the platinums out of the three boxes, in separate boxes.
Got another 6 boxes in today. So I opened 2 boxes and got a total of 8 golds /61 and 1 platinum /5 and 0 plates. Don't think I'll open any more since I doubt I can top the 1st box I opened from this 6 box shipment. Any idea how much the Votto might go for? I don't see any completed auctions for it.
OK, so I have received a total of 13 boxes, and ripped them all. LOL. I have 1 more coming in that will remain sealed. Competed 2 complete sets, almost a 3rd. Tons of golds, 2 autos(Freeman & Volquez), 4 printing plates(Thames, Federowicz, Walden, and Ramirez), 6 platinums(Saltamacchia, Paulino, Wells, Latos, Murphy, and Kuroda). 11 relics(Arencibia x 2, Dunn, Pettite, Butler, Haren, Santana, Musial, Longoria, Trumbo & Braun). I have really, really, really enjoyed busting this product and putting together sets here on the forum!
I've now completed one Master Set (Base 1-661 & Golden Moments 1-50) which is stored beautifully in a binder and regular 9-pocket pages! I was also able to complete a second base set, which I just boxed in a 660 count box with some right-to-size cardboard cut outs I made (PS. 3 pieces of standard corrigated box cardboard is perfect).
I busted 9 boxes in total and wouldn't have even been able to complete 1 base set if it wasn't for the good folks here on the CU Forums!!!
It's been a pleasure being able to help out many of your set ventures as well, but I wanted to be sure that I publically thanked those that helped me...

Of course it's just speculation... and I love Topps products, but I have ZERO confidence in their corporate ethics & integrity... so much so, that it would not surprise me if the actually turned the printing presses back on and rolled out more boxes... using replacement holdbacks on the hits, just not enough to seed at the stated odds.
I submitted the Mike Trout I pulled from these boxes and a Bryce Harper I bought earlier this year on the August $10 no minimum 15 day submission special.
I thought the Mike Trout looked perfect but was hoping for the Bryce Harper.
Logged in on 23rd and as my OCD requires I checked status again today and Bang!!! Poppage.

2) Somewhat widely know that during the 2012 Bowman Blue Wave Refractor wrapper redemption program... some collectors with many, many pack redemptions received their packs from Topps in the originally pack boxing... which clearly stated on the boxes "auto packs" & "non-auto packs". Several dealers, or through the words of regular customers of said dealers, divulged shortly after allocation that big Topps dealers, with ties, received the bulk of the "auto" packs... by most accounts, when auto's should have fell roughly 1:4 packs... the average collectors was hitting roughly 1:15 packs redeemed.
3) 2010 Topps Chrome. Strasburg hype. Topps couldn't come close to meeting initial demand... so they triple printed (unconfirmed) the product! Even after all the on-card auto's had already been signed, so in order to stay relatively true to stated odds... had to jam the product with auto redemptions. You can find tons of examples where in pack you got one autograph and in another pack, got a redemption for the exact same card. Of course, many dealers complained and attempted to cut their orders knowing the product would be worthless and over produced... Topps threatened to cut their future orders and/or drop them from their partner list if they didn't take all they ordered. Small time LCS's around the country took a temporary beating.
4) eTopps.com! Great product, good concept, poor management. I could rattle off at least a dozen massive blows to the collectors levied by Topps... but let's just address the final nail in the coffin. In late 2011, eTopps announced that they would be increasing shipping rates in the near future (no date specified & no statement what the new charges would be). Early 2012, roughly 3-4 weeks after the initial announcement... they quietly snuck the shipping price change in... raising rates by roughly 2.25 times the original cost (which was already highly overpriced)! They also took the ability to use earned rewards points towards shipping, which had been in place for years and allowed most collectors, if they had enough points, to get free shipping. A few weeks later, they announced the shut down of the product. Not only did they leave everyone hanging with massive collections, for cards all purchased and paid for... and now they more than double the cost to have the cards shipped to their owners... but this was early 2012, and they still had tons of cards from "2010" and almost every single card sold "2011" still not printed and ready for delivery... and that remained true for months after the shut down. Collectors bought cards 6-18 months in advance of the shut down... and because Topps never printed them... now had to pay extremely excessive shipping & handling charges just to get delivery of product they bought 6-18 months prior. 5) 2011 Topps Diamond Giveaway online promotion. Collectors abound paid $2-3 for code cards... many unlocked the special "Unopened Vintage Packs"... the majority of people who got these awesome unopened vintage packs from topps... not knowing what year they got... took delivery of their packs... what did Topps send the majority of them. Kick ass vintage unopened packs from that sweet, sweet, sweet year of 1987!
6) Yeah... try calling their customer service... nuf said!!!
That's just a six pack sampling... don't ever be fooled... Topps is a business, and they have proven time and time again over the years that they care WAAAAAAAAAAAY more about the almight dollar then they'll ever even consider the impact they actually have on the hobby and it's collectors.
scored. got a Trout auto it was the bottom right pack. Scored. thought it was just another box, with 3 packs left. Trout auto. I'll friggin take it ! finally, I actually got a 'hit' from a modern box, Finally.
the problem now is. do i have to root for the Angels. I have a habot of this, basing my card onwership when finding favorite teams (DANG THIS ! ANGELS SUCK MY BAL... !!!)
