Yeah, because it's obviously impossible to turn your router off for a while and obtain a new IP address when it comes back up!

For thenon-geeks, if you press the CTRL - ALT - DEL keys simultaneously, it used to reboot the computer, but now brings up a menu you need when you are in trouble.

DANG! So that's why my computer won't re-boot likeit used to.
I'm the Proud recipient of a genuine "you suck" award dated 1/24/05. I was accepted into the "Circle of Trust" on 3/9/09.

It's also possible for two people to have the same IP if they have the same ISP and the IPs are assigned dynamically. And we've had different members with their own accounts from the same household.

Well, that is a legitimate reason to change names, or create two accounts, since you no longer have access to the old one I would just say you have one account. Next time to prevent that, update your email address here before you lose access to an email account, same goes for all online accounts tied to that email address. This is also a good reason to not use isp email accounts or paid accounts, just use gmail and you wont have any problems losing access.

I thought most of the alt users were just would be comedians and pranksters looking for a creative outlet, ala BongoBongo and the like.
I certainly can see the advantage of alts in regards to "extra" contest entries... that is certainly not in the spirit of the forums.
