The Draped Bust type coins were my favorites for a very long time. After I was able to buy early gold type coins, they are now my favorites.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. Oddly enough I find myself looking at the small ones a lot more because there are so many more interesting issues and types. The Charlotte and Dahlonega mints never many anything bigger than $5 gold. That limits my interest right there. The $10 coins were not made from 1805 until 1837. That eliminated a lot of potential type coins. The only $20 gold coin I need to upgrade is the Type II Liberty, and those are almost unobtainable in anything higher than MS-63. The trouble is most all of the MS-63 examples I see and really no better than the AU-58 I own and cost many thousand more.

No, the litttle gold coins are more interesting, at least to me.

I'm on a Charlotte, Dahlonega and New Orleans kick right now. I just love the fact that to find a nice eye-appealing coin it could take months, but when you do and add it to your collection, well my heart fills with pride. I'm still searching for a $2.50 and a G$1 from either C or D right now.

I love Bookers. I have amassed more Bookers than any other coin. But not far behind the Bookers is George Washington Carvers. I am having my first one graded currently. And lastly, Franklins. Have a ton of those, too! I no longer own the above Booker, but it was an original coin that came straight from the cellophane still with the staple intact. It was a pretty cool find and one of my most favorite Bookers of all time that I've owned!!! Would love to get it back someday if only I knew who purchased it.

All the different quarters, halfs, and dollars. Have not taken a liking to any copper, 2c, and 3c pieces. I do like buffalo nickels as well but none of the other nickels at this time.
