Awesome when you pick up a nice addition to your collection.... But sad when no one in your circle of trust cares?

Let them hold one of these. It always gets their attentionimageimage

I don't know... I let them hold gold/silver no effect. I let them hold unique errors to no avail. Even patterns with survivals less than 5... Nothing. The only joy is my son age 9 months who enjoys a pair of silver dollars 1921 & 1922 as toys.

Bingo! Buy a coin because you like it and not to impress others.

Sometimes I feel I am savoring a fine wine no one else enjoys. For instance, my Vermont Ryder 1 Immune Columbia drips rarity and uniqueness but is not your typical collector coin. With only about 25 in private hands though... I understand.

My coins are for my enjoyment and although I will show them to friends if they ask, I do not expect them to appreciate their history/value and numismatic beauty. That is reserved to collectors. Cheers, RickO

Although it really is my hobby and my enjoyment, that's one reason I usually share some of it here ...

the appreciation factor is much greater when I show it to people who know what it is and what it means!

In that respect I'm glad I have a circle of trust here image

Recently (Nov through Jan), I picked up some Barber Quarters and a Walking Liberty Half for my collection

When I first showed them to the family, it was, oh that's nice, more of those ...

Of course to me it was a little bigger deal, as within those groups were 03-S (P55CAC) and 13-P (A62) Quarters, and a 23-S Walker (P58)

Let's put the shoe on the other foot: do you get excited when the wife buys some new shoes? Or do you wince?

I always say nice things and act like I love them - I think this is the correct answer
