<< <i>Unsure as to what the concern is for me bumping my own thread, however you are correct I have turned down some fair offers even some higher than yours. And yes I am looking for a premium for a well centered Psa 7. >>
The card is nicely centered. I don't like that spot that Jim Brown's left hand is pointing to however. >>
So you go from making an offer on the card to now basically putting the card down here on the boards for everyone to see. You didn`t mention that when you were trying to buy it from me. If you have something negative to say I would prefer you keep those thoughts to yourself verses making your criticism open for everyone to read. I am sure other board members will agree with me regarding this. If the tables were turned you would not appreciate what you just did to me being done to yourself!
The problem is that the BST board on here is not the place to use the "707" model of selling. Generally all of the stuff is sold on here for around market price. You have gone from wanting $975, to way more than the highest recent sale, to $40 over the higherst recent sale, to now wanting the same money as the highest recent sale with no ebay or paypal fees. Average VCP on the card is $621.23. You say you have received several "fair" offers, yet you have had absolutely no interest at your prices. Does that not tell you something?
I'm sure everyone of the owners of a PSA 7 Brown feels that theirs is a high end 7. A fair offer would be avg. VCP with no ebay or paypal fees (which is like getting $700 for it using an auction house or ebay) OR slightly higher if you feel you MUST get a premium for yours. OR you could send it to auction and if it's truly that much better than any of the other 7's then it will realize that giant premium you feel that it deserves. Or you could just keep bumping it here and keep catching flack for it.

The problem is no one should be crapping in my posting! So basically what you are saying is if the card is listed for higher than what you think it should be listed for then it is okay for you or another member to talk crap about the card. You stated that I will keep catching flack for it, why because it is not priced where you believe it should be priced at? So when MBMiller25 posted "Really surprised you still have this card" you feel it is okay that bobbyw8469 stated "I`m not surprised". Right there that is crapping in my posting! Then bobbyw8469 goes on to say in part of his posting "I don't like that spot that Jim Brown's left hand is pointing to however." Again that is crapping in my posting. But you go on to say that I will keep catching flack, which in my eyes you are saying it is okay that bobbyw8469 crapped in my thread or for that matter anyone else can crap in my thread.
I know a lot of members are reading this and agree with me although they may not post it here. I have done my best so far to try and follow the guidelines that everyone goes by here on these boards however when someone is out of line I am going to point it out no matter what.
Bottom line is you or someone else may not agree with what I am selling my card for, so be it, stay clear of the posting! If you have nothing good to say don`t say it at all especially if it is criticizing the seller`s card! If you really feel the necessity to say something negative then send the seller a personal message verses crapping in their thread/posting for everyone to view it.
Same thing is happening in the Rickey Henderson R/C Psa 9 Posting. Another member started crapping in that seller`s posting, the seller and another member were very upset about what that certain member was saying, and they should be upset just like I should be upset.
I'm just trying to help you sell the card as it looked like you have no idea as to current values or didn't have access to them. If you keep bumping the thread and STILL remain out of the ballpark as far as price then of course you are gonna get called out on it. Sellers on ebay that have a card priced at $500 BIN when the same card is available at $300 with 5 other BIN's should be made fun of early and often.
Current market is really not important when we are talking about a key rookie card in high grade. Rookies are very very hot right now as we have talked about these last few months. Yes some have sold for less and some for more.. I was with yall to an extent in the beging but it is poor form to do this. If you dont like the price dont buy it. He's not holding a gun to your head at the moment. And the guy is following the rules on bumping his listing. I have seen several guys have a new post everyday and bump them every other day. He has a nice card and its graded by the great PSA Collectors Universe. Let him be people. No disrespect to anyone posting on here.
OP I can see the bumping being anoying at times as we all know its for sale on here. We just want fresh meet I guess.

If you were truly trying to help out thanks, but when you are basically standing up for someone that is crapping in my thread that is not cool! As far as you saying how sellers should be made fun of on ebay regarding a $500 BIN item when there are 5 other BIN items of the same card listed for $300 is very adolescent of you. Remember not all PSA cards although graded the same are truly the same as far as condition or quality. So it is possible that the seller of the $500 card has a much nicer card than everyone else`s $300 card. Regardless there is no need to make fun of anyone! You should devote your time to something positive verses making fun of others!
Your Jim Brown rookie does look like a nice 7... good luck with your ongoing sale, but you are going to get a little grief from some members here if you keep bumping this thread on your ebay BIN every other day.
You've been a member of the CU boards for about two months now and you've posted 60 or so comments so far. Half of them have been in this thread and you pimping your card every other day to get it to the top of the BST thread. This is not the proper etiquette for this thread. If other members here did the same thing you're doing, they'd get called out on it too. A once a week bump should be sufficient.
A few members took the time to post the past VCP sales of this card in a PSA 7 grade, and point out you're asking too much for your card. Honestly you can price it any way you want and for as much as you desire, it's your card. But by bumping your thread all the time, it gives members here the impression you really want to move the card quickly, but it's priced too high for a fast sale. Pricing it higher than nearly every other past PSA 7 sale of this card is not the way to move it.
Also a couple of members recommended you buying an Epson scanner to help put up a better scan of your your nice card and you took that advice like it was some type of criticism. When in fact they were offering up solid advice to help along your sale. Another poster mentions a flaw on your card and you fly off the handle. I really think your being too sensitive here. Your card does have flaws, if it didn't it would be sitting in a 10 holder.
If you bump your BIN nearly every day, expect other member to post here about your card too. The good and the bad.
I still say, if your card is so nice, why not spend the $40 and send it off to PSA for a review? How can it hurt you? It might put $1000 more in your pocket. PSA won't downgrade it. It can only stay the same grade or get bumped and you're use to the bumping.......

Most of your points are well taken. As far as the Epson scanner. I thanked everyone that told me about the Epson scanner except the one board member that wrote "go get the epson now. Quit fiddle, faddle, farting around." I don`t need to deal with that type of talk from anyone! Would you? So I responded and the member apologized because he knew he was out of line. As far as me trying to pimp my card due to bumping, for the most part I am just responding to other member`s posts. If that is considered a bump than I guess all of the board members that are posting good or bad thoughts in my thread are guilty of bumping my thread as well. When I first signed on to these boards I spoke with someone at Psa that deals with these boards and they told me I could bump my thread once a day. So as far as I knew that was how things worked on here. But if board members do not agree with what I was specifically told from Psa then I do not have a problem with bumping it once every few days. I`m not trying to cause a stir on here.
Keep in mind I am quite new here and I am doing my best to stay within the guidelines to keep everyone happy. But when you have people insulting your card(s) who wouldn`t get defensive? I`m not going to sit around and just take the insults! As far as the other member mentioning a flaw on my card and me getting upset, yes I have every right to get upset. That same member offered to buy my card but when I did not accept his offer he ends up criticizing the card here on the boards. Even if he did not make an offer no one should be putting another seller`s card(s) down here on the boards, you wouldn`t like it being done to you and the member that put my card down would not like it either. Anyhow like I said most of your points are well taken.

Not sure what your concern is with me using the word CRAP but all of the board members that want to express their unkindly thoughts in my thread keep in mind I will be watching for your sales threads as well and sticking my nose where it does not belong too! By the way thanks for the BUMP!!!

My word. Really?
Please believe that I am not saying this to be negative, or to 'crap' on your sales thread. I mean this in all sincerity: If you are going to get your panties in a wad over something like THAT, your skin simply may be a little too thin for this forum.

I can take constructive criticism but when people are going out of their way to intentionally insult what I am selling or how much I am selling it for I will not deal with it. And like I have said a thousand times if you do not have anything good to say don`t say it at all! If you feel the necessity that you have to say something negative don`t post it on the threads for everyone to read just send me a pm. As far as my panties getting into a wad and my skin being a little too thin for this forum and me not taking that comment with disrespect but with sincerity is tough for me. But since you said you are not trying to be negative or crap in my sales thread I`m doing my best to look past that comment.
If it were me and I didn`t like something about someone`s sale`s thread not for a second would I CRAP in it. I would just avoid it. What business is it of mine to criticize what they have for sale. In life normally when someone does that they would be considered a hater, not saying that is the case here on the boards but I have to tell you I begin to wonder. I had the same thing happen when I posted my 33 Goudey Ruth for sale on here. Here on the boards a member said he was not impressed and posted when and where I purchased the card at and how much I paid for it. So at this time if my SKIN is a little thin or if my PANTIES are in a wad it is due to some of the FLACK that I have received from a few select members basically for being a new member and not being welcomed as a new member should be. Don`t get me wrong most members here are very welcoming and have been very helpful and I am thankful to them.

Fair enough. I honestly believe that if you relax a little bit, and try not to take everything that is said quite so personally, you will find that your time here is much more enjoyable. You can choose to take my advice, or you can choose to ignore it.
Good luck with the sale.

I will do my best to take your advice. On other boards that I belong to I am not used to being criticized for what I am selling or how much I am selling the item for. Obviously things are a little different here and I am doing my best to relax although it is not easy for me to do this when someone is criticizing my sale in the open for everyone to read.
Thank you for wishing me luck on my sale. See I`m not that bad of a guy. I just treat others as I am treated. Have a good day!
You are taking things the wrong way. I apologize for pointing out the flaw in your PSA 7 Jim Brown rookie card. Good luck with your sale.
<< <i>That same member offered to buy my card but when I did not accept his offer he ends up criticizing the card here on the boards. >>
I offered $650 off Ebay, no comissions or fees taken out. So, you are holding out for a record high price. That is your perogative. I hope you do set the record high price for your card. You obviously think it deserves it. You shouldn't be blinded by "centering only" however. Your card has what appears to be paper loss on the front of the card. If I pointed it out, I apologize. If it were me, I would take Card Benders advice and send it in for review. You obivously think the card is undergraded, as you are asking a record high price for the card. If you do indeed get the bump, you will realize around a $1,500-$2,000 price. That "paper loss" flaw or whatever it is on the front leads me to believe you would be wasting your money on the review. I apologize for pointing out the flaw.
Regardless of the banter back and forth on this thread, the OP should be posting no more than once per day to bump this thread. It is not fair to other members to keep bumping your thread multiple times per day under the guise of responding to others' posts about your card.

Then wouldn`t everyone else be just as guilty as I am for posting in my thread as that would be bumping my thread as well? I am just responding to others and not intentionally bumping my own thread. If you feel it is unfair I am sorry that is not my intentions. However as long as people make comments in my thread that are negative I will respond. I will try and refrain from responding to positive postings as much if that makes things better.
People are commenting on the card and the price because of how you're going about trying to sell it. It's not a PSA 8, it doesn't look like a PSA 8, and the centering isn't fantastic.
Your passive-aggressive responses aren't helping either.

So we have another cowboy on the boards, sounds like you are trying to score brownie points to me. Go waste someone else`s time and don`t worry about this thread!!!
To all board members that are getting tired of seeing my thread at the top of the tier I apologize! But as long as certain members continue to criticize my card/thread I will continue to respond. Those negative members are truly the ones bumping this thread now. As far as any positive posts go I will not respond in a timely manner in order to keep this thread from continually being bumped, but I do thank you! I do want to say thank you as well to all of the board members that have been sending me pm`s and showing your support and agreeing with me that the board members that are CRAPPING in my thread are completely out of line. Thank you!
although it's all from several years back, that is by far the most negative feedback for one seller that I've ever seen. I clicked the link 5 minutes ago and it is still loading there is so much of it.
My feedback link is already there cowboy! You sound like a want to be cop that didn`t make it as a cop but has to try and police something! Does the sale of a Jim Brown Rookie bother you that much that you feel you need to interfere with a thread that has nothing to do with you. Why hide behind the new Maurice account, state your opinion under your existing account here on the boards. No reason to hide.
You`re another board member with issues! This is my 2nd thread ever, in my 1st thread in which I was selling the 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth #144 which I know you remember because for whatever reason you were so butt sore that I was selling the card you openly posted "I am not impressed" You also posted when and where I purchased the card from and how much I paid for the card. Why would you do that? That is crazy! I had no previous dealings with you good or bad but you felt you had the right to attack my thread like that?! But you are now making the comment WOW!? You should have been banned from the boards for those inappropriate comments!
Since you are so Wowed by the negative comments that were left on this account I will explain something to you. I haven`t had a negative left in 6 years! The last nine months of negatives that had been left on my account were almost all mutually withdrawn. Why? Because almost every single negative that was left should not have been left. And 98 percent of the negatives that were left before that should not have been left either. The reason that those negatives were not mutually withdrawn was because ebay did not offer the "mutually withdrawn" option during the time of those negatives. So maybe and I say maybe 2 percent of those negatives I am accountable for, possibly due to any number of non intentional reasons. Shipping delay, misplaced package, etc.
When you have over 50,000 transaction on ebay no matter what you do to make your clients happy there are going to be unhappy people. That goes with any business. Most of the negatives came from buyers that won presale auctions of ours that did not realize that they were bidding in a presale auction, although the auction description stated the auction was a presale and stated how many days it would be before the item would ship. In the early years of ebay sellers were allowed up to 90 days (by ebay`s guidelines) to fill presale orders. After several years ebay lowered the 90 days to 30 days. Well we did a lot of preselling to buyers in those early years that did not read the description that they were bidding in a presale auction, and after a couple of weeks of not receiving their product they ended up leaving a negative. This happened to many different ebay sellers and I believe ebay started the mutually withdrawn option in order to allow sellers and buyers to mutually agree to remove negative feedback that should not have been posted.
We also used to sell Yugioh God Cards as well. On the normal Yugioh cards have writing on the backs of the cards. Authentic Yugioh God cards do not have writing on their backs. Hundreds of buyers left us negatives because they thought the Yugioh card(s) they received from us were fake because there was no writing on their backs but in all reality they were receiving authentic God cards. Although we listed in the auction description that authentic God cards do not have any writing on their backs hundreds of bidders did not read the description which resulted in possibly hundreds of negatives being left on the account.
We had never ripped one person off ever! Trust me if we had ripped someone off which we haven`t ebay would not have allowed us to still sell on their site. Our account would have been suspended.
We are very reputable dealers and take pride in what we do and sell! We figured that posting some of the items that we have for sale here on these message boards would be a plus but in all reality some of the board members here are very unwelcoming which is very surprising.
We do not have time to go back and forth anymore responding to insults as it is very time consuming and we would prefer taking that extra time and putting it into something positive verses negative.
Again to all the board members that have been supportive of us here on the boards and through personal messaging we really appreciate your time and the support! If we have offended or upset anyone besides the people that have CRAPPED in our thread(s) we apologize! Not for a moment was that our intentions!
<< <i>I haven`t had a negative left in 6 years! >>
The account has been mainly dormant. Only 75 feedback received in the past 6 years.
<< <i>The last nine months of negatives that had been left on my account were almost all mutually withdrawn. Why? >>
Because you left retaliatory feedback for your victims so that they would mutually withdraw. People like you are the reason why sellers can no longer leave negative feedback.
<< <i>We are very reputable dealers and take pride in what we do and sell! >>
<< <i>I'm curious to know what happened to this card. Maybe got shipped to one of the big boys for consignment? >>
Bobby I bought the card for $710, it fit my new collecting criteria:
Since getting back in I try to focus on retired ultra HOFers. I have picked up a 1955 Topps Ted Williams PSA 6($300, not bought as an investment giving to my Dad this X mas), a 1956 Topps Hank Aaron PSA 7($250), a 1958 Topps Jimmy Brown PSA 7($700) while a little high I couldn't find a nice, centered one for any less, and a 1969-70 Topps Lew Alcindor PSA 7 ($400). I am currently saving up for either a 1954 Topps Aaron rookie PSA6 or a graded Jordan rookie.

Board, I need some help, the Jim Brown I bought from this thread was stolen, within the last couple of years. The ebay link doesn't show the picture anymore so I am not sure what the PSA number was, is there a way to find the picture?
I just checked VCP and unfortunately this sale did not make it in there.

The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

sea and sha thank you very much for checking.
I doubt ebay would still have the pics from the orginal listing as the seller ended his ebay listing and then sold to me via paypal............................doh
I guess the lesson learned is to write down all of your cert numbers. Any other thoughts on how I might figure out the original cert number?
Thanks,
BC

I'll assume that you didn't register the card on the set registry, otherwise you could just grab the cert # from there. The only other thing I can think of is to go into your PP account and see if the seller listed the cert # in the invoice. This does happen quite a bit.

In all honesty I found the card while doing an extensive search of my collection.
Even though I feel foolish I can't wipe the shlt eating grin off my face right now. So stoked I found the card. I am also extremely happy I didn't accuse anyone of stealing it.

<< <i>The problem is that the BST board on here is not the place to use the "707" model of selling.

CBC's Ebay
No disrespect to anyone posting on here.
OP I can see the bumping being anoying at times as we all know its for sale on here. We just want fresh meet I guess.
<< <i>I'm just trying to help you sell the card as it looked like you have no idea as to current values or didn't have access to them. If you keep bumping the thread and STILL remain out of the ballpark as far as price then of course you are gonna get called out on it. Sellers on ebay that have a card priced at $500 BIN when the same card is available at $300 with 5 other BIN's should be made fun of early and often. >>
You should devote your time to something positive verses making fun of others!

but you are going to get a little grief from some members here if you keep bumping
this thread on your ebay BIN every other day.
You've been a member of the CU boards for about two months now and you've posted
60 or so comments so far. Half of them have been in this thread and you pimping your
card every other day to get it to the top of the BST thread. This is not the proper etiquette for this thread.
If other members here did the same thing you're doing, they'd get called out on it too.
A once a week bump should be sufficient.
A few members took the time to post the past VCP sales of this card in a PSA 7
grade, and point out you're asking too much for your card. Honestly you can price
it any way you want and for as much as you desire, it's your card. But by bumping your thread
all the time, it gives members here the impression you really want to move the card quickly,
but it's priced too high for a fast sale. Pricing it higher than nearly every other past PSA 7
sale of this card is not the way to move it.
Also a couple of members recommended you buying an Epson scanner to help put
up a better scan of your your nice card and you took that advice like it was some type of criticism.
When in fact they were offering up solid advice to help along your sale.
Another poster mentions a flaw on your card and you fly off the handle.
I really think your being too sensitive here. Your card does have flaws, if it didn't it would
be sitting in a 10 holder.
If you bump your BIN nearly every day, expect other member to post here about your card too.
The good and the bad.
I still say, if your card is so nice, why not spend the $40 and send it off to PSA
for a review? How can it hurt you? It might put $1000 more in your pocket.
PSA won't downgrade it. It can only stay the same grade or get bumped
and you're use to the bumping.......

I can take constructive criticism but when people are going out of their way to intentionally insult what I am selling or how much I am selling it for I will not deal with it.
And like I have said a thousand times if you do not have anything good to say don`t say it at all!

You`re another board member with issues! This is my 2nd thread ever, in my 1st thread in which I was selling the 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth #144 which I know you remember
because for whatever reason you were so butt sore that I was selling the card you openly posted "I am not impressed" You also posted when and where I purchased the
card from and how much I paid for the card. Why would you do that? That is crazy! I had no previous dealings with you good or bad but you felt you had the right to attack my thread
like that?!
Why? Because almost every single negative that was left should not have been
left. And 98 percent of the negatives that were left before that should not have been left either. The reason that those negatives were not mutually withdrawn was because
ebay did not offer the "mutually withdrawn" option during the time of those negatives. So maybe and I say maybe 2 percent of those negatives I am accountable for, possibly due to any number
of non intentional reasons. Shipping delay, misplaced package, etc.
When you have over 50,000 transaction on ebay no matter what you do to make your clients happy there are going to be unhappy people.
That goes with any business. Most of the negatives came from buyers that won presale auctions of ours that did not realize that they were bidding in a presale auction, although the auction
description stated the auction was a presale and stated how many days it would be before the item would ship. In the early years
of ebay sellers were allowed up to 90 days (by ebay`s guidelines) to fill presale orders. After several years ebay lowered the 90 days to 30 days. Well we did a lot of preselling
to buyers in those early years that did not read the description that they were bidding in a presale auction, and after a couple of weeks of not receiving their product they ended up leaving a negative.
This happened to many different ebay sellers and I believe ebay started the mutually withdrawn option in order to allow sellers and buyers to mutually agree to remove negative
feedback that should not have been posted.
We also used to sell Yugioh God Cards as well. On the normal Yugioh cards have writing on the backs of the cards. Authentic Yugioh God cards do not have writing on their backs. Hundreds of buyers
left us negatives because they thought the Yugioh card(s) they received from us were fake because there was no writing on their backs but in all reality they were receiving authentic
God cards. Although we listed in the auction description that authentic God cards do not have any writing on their backs hundreds of bidders did not read the description
which resulted in possibly hundreds of negatives being left on the account.
We had never ripped one person off ever! Trust me if we had ripped someone off which we haven`t ebay would not have allowed us to still sell on their site. Our account would have been suspended.
We are very reputable dealers and take pride in what we do and sell! We figured that posting some of the items that we have for sale here on these message boards would be a plus
but in all reality some of the board members here are very unwelcoming which is very surprising.
Take care.

Thanks for the laugh.

I suspect the sale was recorded on VCP and hopefully someone with a subscription can provide you with the images.
<< <i>I just checked VCP and unfortunately this sale did not make it in there. >>
sea and sha thank you very much for checking.
I doubt ebay would still have the pics from the orginal listing as the seller ended his ebay listing and then sold to me via paypal............................doh
I guess the lesson learned is to write down all of your cert numbers. Any other thoughts on how I might figure out the original cert number?
Thanks,

I'll assume that you didn't register the card on the set registry, otherwise you could just grab the cert # from there. The only other thing I can think of is to go into your PP account and see if the seller listed the cert # in the invoice. This does happen quite a bit.
Thank you to all

Even though I feel foolish I can't wipe the shlt eating grin off my face right now. So stoked I found the card. I am also extremely happy I didn't accuse anyone of stealing it.
