There was a short video shot of the Denver Mint last night on Sunday Night Football on NBC. Showed the blank planchets going in and the final product quarters coming out. Kinda neat.

Just curious, now with the passage of time curious if anyone has heard word about any upcoming movie or even reality TV show based on the Saddle Ridge Hoard? The Billion Dollar wreck show on cable TV certainly suggests there would be interest in such.
I like looking for the coin mistakes in movies like in titanic rose hands jack a dime to pay for the drawing but it was a Roosevelt dime and he wasn't president for I believe 20 years after the titanic so he wouldn't have been on a dime and also I don't recall the movie but it was a cowboy movie and it was based in 1880s and they were using wheat cents to pay for beers with
In the season finale of "Billions", Axe was in his vault and you could see a coin collection in the background behind his wife. I could not make out the coins. Anyone?

I've seen this movie a long time ago, but are you sure on the 1999? Did you mean 1899? That would make more sense with the plot, as a 1999 penny would be in the future of when the movie was made(1980)and he travels to the past.

The most recent episode of NCIS had a man murdered for his stash of old gold coins. When the bad guy went to sell them at a coin shop, Special Agent Jethro Gibbs was waiting (of course). His suitcase broke open as he ran away spilling coins on the street.

Without searching I think I have found an obscure one that many probably missed! In the very beginning of an episode of Bonanza, A man who goes on to impersonate Ben shows an outstretched hand with a shield nickel and 2 Indian Cents! The episode was "One Ace Too Many" from 4/2/1972
In Adam-12 a customer wanted to buy a Christmas tree and he gives the owner a buffalo nickel. I'm a little rusty on the story but I think the tree was 5 dollars. The owner says it 5 dollars not 5 cents but customer claims this a rare 26-S Buffalo nickel worth alot more than 5 dollars. Of course police officer Jim was there and buys the nickel for the price of the tree. Then the owner wanted the nickel back for what Jim paid for...... typical Hahahaha

Watched a re-run of Mad Men this morning.
During the show Don Draper has a flash back to when he was about 6-7 years old (during the depression). He lives with his mother and a man (who I do not think was his father) in a rural home. Another mans stops by and asks if there is any work he can do. After some discussion the mother and the man she lives with (her boyfriend I assume) agree that the second man can stay the night, have dinner with them and work the next day. I think the second man is Don Draper's father, though Don does not know this. The mom's boyfriend pulls out a quarter to show the second man what his wages will be when he finishes working the next day. The boyfriend places the quarter on the table and there is a close up shot of it. It is a Standing Liberty Quarter that looks to be in high circulated condition with a dark look and "circulated cameo" appearance with the high points of the devices being lighter in color than the lower relief areas and the fields.
Correction - The mom pulls out the quarter but the boyfriend/husband/father(?) puts it in his pocket and says he will give it to the hobo the next day after work has been completed. He then reneges and the hobo marks a fence post with a 'dishonest man' hobo code marking that appears to be a scythe.
