Easy for me, Morgans.

Please specify which of your chosen favorite denomination is your baby.
Example: Dimes=Mercury
Quarters=Washington Silver 32-64
Etc....

    This is a tough question.

I really like Mercury Dimes, for many reasons. The design, I know the series and Cherrypick the entire series, it is fairly affordable and most people that I know do not consider it "modern".....on and on and on but I am not so sure "DIMES" would be my favorite denomination since they are so freaking small. I enjoy a lot of different series from different denominations but it mostly comes down to design, not the denomination.

I just can't vote...unless I counted the number of designs I like from the different denominations and see which one had more....... image

Seated Liberty Half Dollars, 1838-1891. I prefer MS-63 to MS-64.

My favorite denomination, of course, is half dimes, but my favorite series would have to be Draped Bust.

Incidentally, you left half dimes completely off your list. I will assume this was just an oversight. image

  • I have grown to love the Draped bust type in any series. But I am one of those collectors who has a fairly low budget so I can only buy one rarely.
  • Bust dollars followed by a close second of Bust Halves. Don't really care for Morgans (sorry). Have a soft spot for the 1793 Flowing Hair Large Cent too.

Peace dollars, but I don't care for Morgans - go figure.
Next would be half dollars - everything but Kennedys.

Copper would be last, but I prefer type collecting in general, so I like to think I respect them all at least a little.

I love early halves. But I've spent most of my energy on cents, 1793 - 1958.

Toned Lincoln Cents, Lincoln DDOs and RPMs, Early Die State Lincolns. See a pattern here? But only Wheats, since I grew up with the ugly Memorial design and loved to find wheats. So for me Memorials are not for collecting. Here's a pretty one...Ray

Toss up between Classic Large Cents and Seated $s. I have two nice examples of the latter, but none of the former. A nice Classic Half Cent will have to do.

    I'll make it simple.

I like EVERYTHING, but in recent years I've become a real gold bug. I've recently completed my gold type set, and finishing that felt even better than when I completed my half cent to non gold dollar set. Gold is fun, but there are a lot more "small gold type" (Five dollars or less) that large gold types (ten or twenty dollars).
