filling out forms proper still seems way to complicated...i hope that passes...did you too have such concerns too?
anyway
here's a walker...way over paid...not in hand...if it's not cleaned...she's going in...any guesses on grade knowing grade isn't to be revealed or not anytime soon.

not a candidate ... may not be cleaned but that's an AU coin

Even if she is not cleaned she appears to be AU and not worth sending in.......unless you are doing a set in AU and want to be able to put her in the Registry.

Definitely not MS, and probably cleaned. Don't waste your time and free submission on this coin.

Compare the details to this one:

Countdown to completion of my Mercury Set: 1 coin. My growing Lincoln Set: Finally completed!
  • I can't tell from the pics if it has been cleaned or not. But there is enough business in the fields and wear on the points to lead me to an AU conclusion.

As far as the documentation woes, I think it will pass. I'm filling out my first submission as well. I just used that insert booklet that came in my welcome package that described steps 1 - 13 or whatever and just patiently went though each one. It seems straight forward.

What I'm bummed about though is that I got the diamond membership with the 8 free submissions. But they all have to be submitted at the same time. Not sure where I'm going to get 8 raw coins from unless I can make it to a coin show. But I don't trust my grading skills enough to do that. Perhaps I'll buy some proofs from the mint and just submit that heh.

    << <i>Your 1946 is a DDR. Congrats lasvegasteddy !! >>

This coin is the DDR, I was watching the auction last night where it sold, it was unattributed and two people (not me) fought hard over it. My snipe bid was about 1/3 of the hammer price for a couple of reasons; I was concerned about the surfaces / condition and I wanted room for resale. I figured best case the coin was a problem free AU58, worst case it was AU details cleaned.

If you do end up returning it, I think you should be nice and tell the seller the attribution, otherwise there's no way he's getting close to that money for the coin again. Frankly I think you may get a hard time from the seller given the hammer price, he may assume you just overplayed your hand with a big snipe bid.

P.S.: Nice eye catching the DDR on that, the pics weren't the best and I hoped it might slide under the collective radar.
Incomplete planchets wanted, especially Lincoln Cents & type coins.

    yeah seanq
being returns accepted...i played shall we say...i saw an 58/62 in it's poor image...the ddr has quite a lil tag price in that neck of the woods too
i messaged the seller wording caution that refund will be forth coming if coin does appear cleaned in hand as not stated in auction coin being cleaned...also informed them of the fact it is the ddr too
hopefully they just refund me rather then send it as i value greatly the opinmions here over my own and the crowd here is more on the 10% chance its not cleaned
    too low of odds

Amazingly, that variety still shows up unattributed on ebay from time to time. I don't have the patience to conduct a military search for them but I spot them occasionally. Here's the reverse of one I cherrypicked last month for $35, it's at least a 64 though I have not submitted it yet:

I wasn't even looking for the DDR. Not being a Walker variety guy. But it's definitely worth grading as a variety it it is not cleaned. And if it is a tuff variety I might grade it anyway.

Nice find, but sounds like you had to pay more than regular money for it.
