Check out this Morgan...2 Die cracks ???

I have never seen 2 seperate Die Cracks on one coin before. Is this rare? Worth a premium? Junk?

Give me your thoughts and Thank You for you help.

Cheers !

Ive seen 1921 morgans with more die cracks than that selling for near melt. However not sure if that one is special, vam, etc. Waiting to hear from the more experienced collectors

Die cracks alone on a coin do not ever indicate anything other than the progression of die usage. It is only when they appear in conjunction with proactively created die features that they matter as a corroborating marker. Think of date placement, mintmark placement and style, die maintenance(polishing/gouging/acid etching, and basic hub design) as far more important qualifiers of a particular VAM and how it ranks in the Universal Rarity Scale.

You are absolutely correct. How did you know?

I am thinking about getting into these at some point, so I am quite curious.

Thank you all for your comments. I don't know much about morgans and I had this one in the safe. I never even noticed the cracks until I started photographing it.

Try Vamworld.com if you're really serious about learning more. As previously mentioned, die cracks are common on Morgans. There are several Top 100 VAMs and even several Hit List 40 VAMs for 1902-O Morgans! These VAMs do indeed command a premium. Check out the website, maybe you're lucky and got a rare one!

    Cheers!
