<< <i>So out of a whole case, nobody got a pack with Ripken on top?
(I realize the odds aren't really that great to get one out of one case, but I was hoping anyway) >>
Someone check my math, but wasn't there a 48% chance of a Ripken on top? And a 97% chance of a Ripken showing on top or bottom? Those aren't terrible odds.
Anyway, is there anyone who has a Carlton showing on top that they would be willing to sell? I have the 1983 Phillies Team card with Carlton showing, but no others from that set. Please let me know! Thanks!

And as far as I know, besides Ripken, there were no top sightings of Sanberg, Boggs, Ryan, Brett, Rose -- and a ton more lot more.
I read freakonomics and the odds of that happening are astronomical.
My money is on that they were searched thru over the years.

If there are only 24 packs per box and sixteen boxes per case......it simply tells me not all cards will be "on top". Just stating the obvious. There is another case on BBCe website, maybe we should break that one too!

It looks like it is a Wax box ... not the fun of seeing the Stars on top of the Cellos.
So I broke down and opened one pack of the 1983 Topps Cellos and look what was in it... not as nice of centering as the one on top of the pack but still fun to find.
Thank you Grote15 for letting this one ride along with your last submission.
Thank you, -Larry
You're welcome, Larry! Congrats again on a 1/1 PSA 10!! I knew it had a shot when you sent it--it's really a gem mint pack!

Freakonomics=Excellent book.
Thanks!
<< <i>Actually, I think it is a 76% chance for a Ripken (or any card) to be showing top or bottom. Not 97%. >>
If this was an original sealed case, perhaps -- but we know these are returns, so I imagine the numbers don't add up (pun intended)
24 packs per box, 2 sides per pack is 48.
16 boxes.
48 x 16 =768
That's 768 cards technically showing per case.
There are 792 cards in the set.
That's approximately 97% showing.

I was so excited when I opened the package from you; my wife laughed at me and asked, "Did you just pee a little?".
