    Case is listed for $2100.

16 boxes per case equals $131.25.

With the standard discount of 10%, each box would cost $118.13.

    Sound good?

I don't normally collect 80s unopened, but that is a good price for a case fresh box and there are 3 HOF RCs. I'd be in for a box myself (don't tell cpamike, lol)..

What?!? Well, if Tim is in I'd take at least one box if not two myself.

I would be interested at the $118.13 price too.

Steve says it's a go! He's taking the case off of the site so we can go ahead and fill slots.

Should we wait until tomorrow to have an official break or just fill the slots now?

Maybe we should have the people that already committed get one box and then have anyone else wait for the thread to be posted tomorrow.

    Has anyone opened/ripped a 83T cello box?

How does it compare to wax? If wax is superior - the extra cards ya get in the cello box may not be worth it - if an entire cello has dinged corners?

Just curious - I've never opened an 83T wax box - the vending is definitely hit and miss IMO.

Tim can correct me, but I believe that in 1983 Topps went strictly to the loose fitting cellos so the corners should have held up much better.

Hey Mike, you can have my spot as I already have 3 1983 Topps cello boxes sitting here plus I have a PSA graded Gwynn and Boggs cello pack. Just looking for the Sandberg. You are saving me from myself, LOL.

That's not exactly the clearest sentence, but I think it meant that if you bought a box in addition to the pack run your total shipping would be $12.00.

I will let you all know what Steve says.

Thanks Larry! Glad to do it!

Well done, fellas! Mike is correct--83 cellos are loosely wrapped compared to 70s cellos (and some early 80s cellos)..

This is my first time participating in one of these. I have a question for all you veterans. When I go to pay for my 1983 Topps box can I add additional boxes to the order to save on combined shipping?
  • LarryPLarryP Posts: 339 ✭✭
I always add something extra ... even if it is just a cheap wax box or something ... I usually call and do it that way.

Give them my CU name and all the other information (C/C, address, and such).

    Enjoy,
