No less than six 1899-S Barber quarters. One G-4, one F-12, one PCGS F-12, one PCGS VF-25, one PCGS VF-25 CAC'd, and one PCGS VF-30. For VF, look at the PCGS populations. very underrated.

Wow... @sedulous.... why the sudden grab of 1899 quarters? Or is that an accumulation over time? Pretty sure it is not your birth year.... Cheers, RickO

I'd bet you are right ricko! Since there's only one person left in the entire world that lived in the 1800s...
Ricko, I studied and saw the mid-grade populations as tough with very low pops in VF... thought I would pick-up a few. Philippine date. Majority are cleaned or environmentally damaged. Looked at Heritage auction archives... didn't find much there either. You have to go way back to find a non-details VF. There might be a couple more out there in VF not 3rd party graded. I see the 1899-S quarter in VF 25 to VF 35 just as rare as the '09-O in XF to AU. Confirmed by population reports. Then you look at the mintages for both the '99-S and '09-O... both similar. The reasons go on and on. These specimens will be off the market for a long while if I have anything to say about it. The VF-30 would probably CAC if sent in. Thanks, Tim

Nice! Like the nice clean fields, and the pronounced die cracking on the reverse.

Not completely sure, but that 99-O Morgan looks to be a VAM 11A.

Jeff, I love your '99-S in PC53. Nice yellow tone coloration!
David, Nice cameo Morgan! Clean cheek and a 64 is a great combination in my book.
Ultra, splendid nickel you have there. What did the '99-S grade?
