How about a modern card? I was having trouble finding a nicely centered example of this card, finally bought this from Dave and Adam. Love this card, Royals first round pick in 2011 and a native Kansan.
Here's one of my favorites, purchased from Don Spence. It must have gnawed away at him to have to live with this piece of crap in the house while he looked for a nice one.

Great thread, Matt, and incredible cards throughout! I feel I should try to contribute, so here are the favorites from my collection from the first eight decades of the last century:
I don't collect football but I found this in a local antique store a while back and thought it was too cool to pass up. From the writing on the ball, my best guess is it's from 1902 . Looks like 02 on top and 13-5, probably the score, on the bottom Check out the oversized football and the nose guard he holding in his hand.
Man, there are to many nice cards to mention them all. I will say that the 53 Bowman Color of Pee Wee has always been a favorite of mine and your PSA 8 is the best I have seen!
Also the uncut sheets are unreal! That is not something you see everyday, I bet you are sick over the damage caused by the framers, I would be.
The T3 Cobb is probably the prettiest (can I use that word when describing men on cardboard) baseball card ever produced and yours is a beautiful example. If it wasn't so valuable I would keep it on my nightstand...lol
If I get time later I will scan some of mine to add to this great thread.
My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. Walter, that's the nicest 56 Campy I've ever seen. I didn't know Spence ever sold anything. Did you get him drunk at the last National and talk him into it?
<< <i>Walter, that's the nicest 56 Campy I've ever seen. I didn't know Spence ever sold anything. Did you get him drunk at the last National and talk him into it? >>
While I do indeed consort often with folks in Spence's social class, this was just a plain old EBay purchase. I think he only sells when he upgrades. If I remember correctly, his EBay handle is "des1728". I am sure many on this board can confirm or deny.
It's easily one of the five nicest cards I own- and whenever I look at it I always picture Spence holding the card in his hand and yelling "I can't TAKE IT ANYMORE! I'm this close to the perfect Roy Campanella collection, but why the hell can't I find a halfway-decent '56??!?!?!????"

LOL, Hilarious. I didn't realize Spence sold as well. I want to purchase a card from him, and then I want a special flip to read: "Spence owned this card"
Andy, You have added some really solid Pre-War cards over the last couple years to your HOF collection. Well done on the Speaker and Mathewson in particular.
Mark, That Drysdale is Awesome! There is nothing like a nicely centered high end 62 Topps card in my book!
Darin, I don't do much modern. Did those 18U card take the place of the AFLAC cards from a few years back? If he's a Royal, and a #1 draft pick.....I know your pleased!
I really would like to add a Gordie Howe to my collection. Those look great!
I picked this up recently, and am hoping some of the Mini experts can tell me whats wrong with this card to make it an 8. All four cards are razor sharp, no touches whatsoever. The card is dead centered as well L/R. I am not sure about T/B. There is some print in the pink ROYALS name, but thats all I am seeing. Is it that PSA is that hard on Mini's? This is the first one I have ever owned, and I am loving it.
ok, here's a mystery to me.....i posted this card here awhile back, but no one really responded, so.......anyone read Japanese or can ya tell me who this guy is?
No idea how that Brett Mini is an 8. Looks like at least an 8.5. Jeff, sorry wish I could help identify the mystery man swinging the bright yellow bat.
Love the variety of cards people are posting. All different eras, some choosing to focus on one player, some all over the place, but some really cool cards. The pure enjoyment factor is shining through, and when it does the monetary value of the card becomes irrelevant.
On the topic of 62s, here's another one to keep the thread alive. Love Clemente, love the 62 woodies, hence...I had a hard time passing on this one...

I work at Canon and have a bunch of Japanese co-workers. I'll print this out and see what it says on back when I go back to work on Monday. Never seen one like that before.
Nice mini-Brett pick-up Matt. Tim and Matty are mini lovers so maybe one of them can chime in. Those cards are in their own universe.
And that 62 Clemente is a killer even if it calls him Bob. BTW, hello Dan.

Matt, actually I don't know much about modern cards either. But I've been picking up some Bubba auto cards and really like the looks of this one. The Royals might surprise some people this year. They had 4 rookies starting at the end of last year, all with a lot of talent.
Those are some really, really nice 48s, Scott. While I know next to nothing about that set, I like the action poses and deep colors. I'm guessing you have the whole set complete in multiple variations.
<< <i>Those are some really, really nice 48s, Scott. While I know next to nothing about that set, I like the action poses and deep colors. I'm guessing you have the whole set complete in multiple variations. >>
Thanks... Yes, I have the complete set and more than 50% of an autographed set. Currently have the #1 Master Set on the Registry with plenty of other variations that PSA still won't recognize on the flip.
Scott -- soooo tough to find those Leafs that nice. Incredible collection that obviously took some time to assemble.
Here's a Leaf card where the stars were aligned. Doesn't happen too often, but when it does these cards look cool. Would like to get a DiMaggio and Teddy Ballgame from the same set to go with this one....
Chuck, definitely the nicest 48 Leaf Musial 6 I've ever seen. Matt and I were just discussing this. You beat me by a longshot on eBay. Here's another Clemente I really like that took me a long time to find. I posted it when I first purchased, but wanted to keep this thread going. Lots of cool cards across the board--it's fun to learn about them. Keep sharing them with us!
<< <i>ok, here's a mystery to me.....i posted this card here awhile back, but no one really responded, so.......anyone read Japanese or can ya tell me who this guy is?
>>
I don't know if this solves the mystery, but here are the translations.
1. At the top of the card it says "Air Force". 2. To the left side, the characters in the bat shape means "Umpire". 3. To the right side, the characters in the thermometer shape means "Heal kick" (I am not making this sh*t up). 4. In the circle, the characters mean "Iron" or "Metal".
The guy I asked thinks it's to a baseball card game, but has never seen it before. He thought the fist could stand for "rock" in rock, paper, scissors.
I hope this helps some.

Damn Dan, Next thing we know your going to throw a 55 Clemente PSA 9. That 56 Clemente is a beauty.
CW, Watched that Musial, I couldnt believe what it sold for. How nice is that card in hand? Seems a grade lower than it should be. If you get that bump, you then stole that card!
InitialD, Nice set of rookies you got there, Its amazing how everyone has such nicely centered stuff. Clearly, on these boards.....Centering matters!
Love the Bench Rookie! I just picked up a "7" last night and can't wait for it to get here.
That '48 Musial is stunning! What an awesome card.
The 62 Clemente has to be the nicest one on the planet...Holy Crap!
Does anybody have a 1969 Bench thay can post? That is one of my favorite all time cards.

<< <i>Jeff, what would that RC with an auto go for? Don't really collect autos, but his seems like one where demand would greatly exceed supply. >>
Great question. I've never seen one autographed. Where's Mike Navaro when we need him? I'm pretty sure Mike has an early Ali auto.

That's about as nicely centered as it gets.

Andy... Great looking pre-war cards. I feel in love with that Tris Speaker.

Here's some measley modern football. These would be a lot more impressive if Rivers would just get a ring....ugh!!!
Joe, really nice raw 75s and 68s. Thanks for sharing.
Dan, I hate to break the news to you, but don't bank on Rivers getting that ring anytime soon. BTW, I like the color assortment.
