Jeff, don't ever apologize for showing off Mr Ripken. That looks awesome. Topps did a great job with his cards throughout his career.
ToneD, you have some serious pre-war cardboard. That's my next stop 33 Goudey of Foxx and Ott and then T206/205 of Cobb, Mathewson, Johnson, Young and a Speaker. Congrats on your sweet tobacco cards.
WOW, Dan, amazing. Great centering which can be tough for that card. My overall favorite card too. Here is mine. Luckily it crossed over to an SGC 50 slab where it resides today. The little brother to Dan's card.
Fantastic Clemente's. One Clemente that always stops me in my tracks, besides his rookie, is the 67 Dexter Press Premium. I couldn't think of it off the top of my head so I searched for it in the Clemente player registry. I noticed yours, very nice set indeed, and you had one in there. That is a beautiful piece. Well done.
I hate to pass up an opportunity to share cards. I promise to scan more, once I get my hands on a new scanner - but for now, it's the best I can do. Here are a few recent pickups that I'm excited about...
1968 Mira Tuttosport (Italian) - Lew Alcindor (one year before Kareem's rookie card)
1965 Lampo - Cassius Clay (rookie card) (one of my personal favorites)
Thought id share a little bit! I am very excited about getting this card. One step closer to completing my 1959 set thanks to bobbyw8469! And i love those Clementes! This is my prize Clemente in my collection.

I was almost stunned by that one bazooka panel. Big fan of Clemente, Kaline, and Dick Howser, who was K.C's manager when they won their first of many world series titles.
Here is some of my favorites in my Cardinals collection. Unless you have tried to locate some of these, you may not appreciate how hard some of these are to find. Sorry about the cruddy scans. I was to lazy to take them out of the album pages. These are complete team sets unless noted.

WOW GUYS! Some real impressive stuff! Keep 'em comin!
STAY HEALTHY!

The '59 has always been one of my favorite Mantles - and THAT is a beautifully centered '59! >>
I agree on both counts. Aside from the '52 Topps and '53 Topps, which are works of art on cardboard, the '59 card is his coolest Topps card from the 50's (imo, obviously).
...and thanks for all the kind words on the cards, guys.

Another one from me...this one of the Georgie Peach, arguably the greatest player ever to put on a baseball uniform. Most beautiful baseball set of all time IMHO...
Oh Thunderdan, that is awesome! I only have 31 more cards for my top 250 and that is one. I will admit, I am looking for a PSA 1 only.
Thanks for sharing that is amazing.

This is what I am talking about! There's some serious cardboard above. Did I see 3 Jordan PSA 9 RC's? That Cobb cabinet card is just simply gorgeous. Love the Clemente's, especially the Kahn and Bazooka. That 59 Mantle is one seriously nice 4. Shane, where did you find all those 88 cloths?
I"m on a mission to get some uncut sheets framed these days, so thought I'd show some of those. Off to an inauspicious start, however, as the framing store just trashed a '41 Playball uncut sheet. Anyway, here's a couple of pieces of cardboard headed for a different framer!

For some reason, the portrait on the '56 Mantle doesn't do it for me, but I love the action shot in the background. The '56 Topps is definitely a consensus favorite, for sure.
Thunderdan.... if you ever decide to upgrade your T3 Cobb, let me know! Incredible card!
Griffins... that Bowman sheet (Berra, Musial, Spahn) is amazing! Sorry to hear about the mishap with the other sheet.

I heard once that in the action pic of mantle on the 56, he actually did not catch the ball in real life, but for the card they show the ball in his glove. Is this true?

a couple iconic cards i've always enjoyed having in my collection.....Mays presents so nicely, however, it's had work done on the corners, so it could be no better than authentic, but it's no less a centerpiece......
the Wilt RC presents very nicely as well, but has a big ol' stick o' gum stain on the back, so it has stayed slab-free up to now......enjoy.

I'm not sure if he actually caught it, but the original photo shows the ball still in the air (so the card was embellished or doctored). It's funny because I want to like the '56 Mantle, but the coloring and touchups on the portrait just look odd to me. Here's the original action shot....

Two cards that, until a couple of days ago, were part of my collection. Sold them, but I figured they were worth sharing. I really enjoyed having them while I did.
I am going to congratulate you Dan on the sale, as I know your going to use the money to pick up something amazing. I would have a tough time letting those two beauties go. Keep the cards coming guys!
More amazing cardboard up there guys. That T3 Cobb and uncut sheets are incredible. Thanks for sharing.
Here is another GAI card I was able to cross over to a SGC 3.
This was my first T206 card I bought back in 2002. It was originally in a PSA 5 holder but I crossed it over to GAI many years ago. Yes I got caught up in the GAI was taking over the world hype when they first started up. Hey we all make mistakes, right? Anyway I crossed it over to SGC and they gave it a 50/4 due to some light surface wrinkles that can barely be seen. A little harsh to me but SGC is tough on surface wrinkles.
Couple of more to add. Kareem was always my favorite player growing up. While not the most media friendly, I always recall fondly his role in the movie "Airplane," a family favorite to this day. So many classic lines from that movie. I really enjoy having this card in my collection, as I do with Stockton and Malone. I'm a huge Jazz fan, and I always admired the pick and roll these two would run to clockwork perfection. Their back-to-back losses in the 97 and 98 NBA finals still pain me to this day. I always admired Stockton's toughness and determination (some would call dirty play). The old school tight shorts he wore, his no-nonsense approach to the game. All-time steals and assists leader to this day. Loved Stockton...
That Kareem rookie is incredible. The L/R centering on those cards is so tough! And I too, am a HUGE fan of the movie airplane. I was never a Laker fan, but the fact that Kareem was in the movie made him okay in my book.
Dan, I have never seen a Abdul-Jabbar PSA 9 RC. Thats a beauty of a card. I love the Malone and Stockton cards. The 86 Fleer set is such an addictive set for me!
This is a HUGE card for me. This is currently a POP 1 in this SGC holder, and is also a POP 1 with PSA as well. I really appreciate Mike (Swartz1) for making this an affordable piece for me. This is a Huge addition to my Musial collection.
<< <i>Jeff that Muhammed Ali RC is really cool. What does a card like that cost? >>
They've kind of caught fire lately selling for between $300-$500 raw, with some for more. Nice graded examples are selling for well over a grand. It's a super condition sensitive card, with major centering issues on most examples.
