Help identifying a 3 coin 1991 palladium set

I recently purchased this 1991 3 coin palladium set and I have not been able to find any information about it. I cannot find if it was an "officially" released set or if it is an after market assemblage? The coins are unc's not proofs and weigh 1 oz, 1/2 oz and 1/4 oz. The box has a ceramic tile on top with a reproduction of a degas painting.

As I said, I have not been able to find any information whether a set like this was ever issued or sold. If it was "officially" released, I would like to know how many sets were issued.

If any one has any information to share, I would appreciate it.

I doubt the set was a official issue. I have followed the Ballerinas for quite a while couple of years and have never seen it.
I love the ballerina design, in any metal it comes!

"CCCP" stands for Soviet Union. The Soviet Union dissolved in 1991. Doubt these could be 1993s.

thanks for the replies. I guess I wasn't quite clear enough in my question and my fat fingered 1993 instead of 1991 was misleading.

I know they are russian ballerina coins. I know what CCCP stands for. I was just wondering if this three coin, unc, set in a wood box with a degas painted tile, was an "official" issue and if it was, what was the number of sets released?

Krause has mintages listed as follows:

    1 oz 30,000
    1/2 oz 15,000
    1/4 oz 9,000

But no mention of a 3 coin set.

  • I've seen the coins listed before in Pd, but don't know much about them. I've seen them on ebay and the bst.

the box looks after-market to me. it doesn't look anything like the official Russian or Soviet packaging.

Most likely sold & packaged by Pandaamerica or Talisman...they deal in this type of coinage.

There is a three coin unc set listed in Krause. Issue price $245. There is no mention of the packacking and no mintage number for the set.
