Nice! Did anyone get back subs of cards that were O/C on the back like my Carew and F Robinson posted on the previous page? If so, what grades did they get?
  • Didn't submit any like that gemint. Best of luck.

Hi John: I got a few 9's with that same reverse centering... send 'em in! The 10's reverse wasn't centered too much better... but just enough I guess.

Here's the best of my poppage:

Thanks for the feedback Mike. I definitely plan to send them in even if they are only 8 worthy. That Messersmith reverse centering isn't too bad. It only has to be 75-25 for a 10.

That Bochte is a tough one isn't it?
  • Great results, the cost of the packs were obviously worth it.

I graded 18 cards from my packs, which I posted here on 2/6. 11 psa 9s (including Tommy D, Rose and Seaver) and 7 psa 8s (including Cruz and Carlton). Needless to say, if you decide to break/sell any more of these, I am very in. Thanks much for including me. Scans:

Great results! I don't know what the grader found wrong with some of those 8s. Must be a micro touch on a corner. I'll be submitting mine at the SF show this weekend and will post the results when I get them back. I'm interested to see how they treat the Carew and F Robby being that they're so O/C on the back.

If anyone pulled a 7-8ish Fred Lynn RC and you want to sell, please PM me a pic and your price!
    Thanks

  • I finally got settled in and had Dave send my eight packs he's been holding on for me. I told myself I'd keep a handful to get graded but the tempation of pulling 9 and 10s were way too much. Here are a few pics. The first pack I popped open had a few Hall of Famers in it. I'll scan them once I unpack my peripherals. I got a nice Yount but the T/B is 90/10, same with the Blyleven. The Reuschel is a potential 9 but there is a tiny black dot on the F/L border. I wasn't Hall of Fame heavy but I'm subbing at least 23 that are potential 9's or better. There were six or seven cards in each pack that were centered which is great for this issue. Sorry for the cell phone pics!

Finally had the courage to open the five packs I got. First pack was definitely the best as I got the Aaron and Ryan Highlight. I sure hope I don't get an OC for the Ryan. Looks kinda low. Hoping for 9's on those. The Perry maybe an 8 as the bottom left corner has a slight touch.

The Ryan Highlights has straight 7 centering T/B (or 9OC) IMO. Nice job overall!

    Scott,

The Ryan HL is OC for sure, at best a 9Oc or straight 7 as Nick said. The Aaron does have a shot at Mint 9 from the scan.

I appreciate the opinions. I also got a beautiful Claudell Washington that has a good shot at a 9. Is it true that this is the hardest card to get an 8 or a 9 of in the set? There is a small tick of yellow missing (white) on the left edge of the card. It is not big at all, hopefully that won't give me a PD qualifier. I looked up the SMR values for Claudell Washington and they listed him as a common. Any input?

    Thanks,

    Scott

The Washington is one of the very toughest to find in PSA 8 or better. If yours grades 8 or 9, please PM me as I would be very interested in purchasing it. Good luck!
