Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
I received my two packs this morning and I have increased everyones odds of getting decent star power. I didn't get anything to write home about.
The centering was all over the place including several cards that were miscut.
Good luck to the rest of you!
Edit to add: I am unfamiliar with this issue so I need to look at the pop reports to see if I have any low pop cards worth grading. I will update if I do.
My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

That Washington looks very nice. So does the Heidemann. If they are full size and as clean as they look, you will have done well. I suggest looking at completed auctions for both. In 8's, they both could be a nice return. 9's......forgetaboutit!!!
heres whats going to psa. Was able to find 17 cards that I needed for my raw Nm or better set. And I have about 9 that Im going to send to PSA in hopes of 9s. Here are the PSA ones.
<< <i>Is that chipping on the left edge of the Washington or PD? (to the left of the trophy) >>
It is not chipping so I guess PD. I just looked at VCP and if you click on "Image" for the auctions that ended at: $305, $276 and $410, they all 3 have the same mark.

Are you talking about the white area in the black border to the right of the trophy? I'm talking about the little area of white on the edge in the yellow border to the left of the trophy.

Yes, the white mark to the left of the trophy in the yellow.

Bob, did you get the PD because of the mark?

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

Very nice cards! No question these packs are case fresh, unsearched and very high-end!
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
The Washington looks like an 8, but with the blue scuffing/bleed through to the right of "A's" it isn't going to be the second 9. Beautiful card regardless and no shame in a beast 8.
I received my packs today---I always go through this inner struggle where unopened collector faces off vs pack ripper...will probably wind up ripping at least a few...but want to keep a couple sealed for the very nice empty box that came with my packs!

Opened my 3 packs. Front centering was overal very good across the board, with a few exceptions tho back centering was really bad (almost all like 90/10).
Star power included: a great Stargell that should be a 9, a Gary Carter RC with good front/bad back centering, Schmidt (same as carter tho a little snow and t/b front OC), and a Ryan 300Ks that was the wax card. 1-2 "9" type commons in each pack, need to look at the pop report to see if theres any real limited ones there.
MINT 9: Mint A PSA Mint 9 is a superb condition card that exhibits only one of the following minor flaws: a very slight wax stain on reverse, a minor printing imperfection or slightly off-white borders. Centering must be approximately 60/40 to 65/35 or better on the front and 90/10 or better on the reverse.
NM-MT 8: Near Mint-Mint A PSA NM-MT 8 is a super high-end card that appears Mint 9 at first glance, but upon closer inspection, the card can exhibit the following: a very slight wax stain on reverse, slightest fraying at one or two corners, a minor printing imperfection, and/or slightly off-white borders. Centering must be approximately 65/35 to 70/30 or better on the front and 90/10 or better on the reverse.
NM 7: Near Mint A PSA NM 7 is a card with just a slight surface wear visible upon close inspection. There may be slight fraying on some corners. Picture focus may be slightly out-of-register. A minor printing blemish is acceptable. Slight wax staining is acceptable on the back of the card only. Most of the original gloss is retained. Centering must be approximately 70/30 to 75/25 or better on the front and 90/10 or better on the back.
Not much to write home about in my packs. Some nicely centered commons but I don't think any are low pops. I got a Carew that's nicely centered on the front but nearly miscut on the back 95-5. Got an OC Garvey and Jenkins and a Frank Robinson that is submittable. Also got a Mantle/Newcombe MVP card that is probably an 8 and a Berra/Campy MVP that has 9 potential. Got a really nice Heidemann that unfortunately has a huge bubble on the right border. Probably not even an 8. I'll try to post some scans later.
I got my 8 packs in over the weekend, and was pleased to find so many potential graders. Mine actually came from 3 different boxes due to the timing of my requests, and the packs reflected different centering and cutting as a result. Got a few trapezoidal cuts from 4 of the packs, and a few of the 50/50 tilt miscuts (one in each of 5 packs).
Anyway, here are my 28 "maybes" - some are really sharp cards.... not sure what's up with the card savers and those refracting lines....

Still weeping in MA.
Received my 2 packs today.
Very nice cards again, centering a little more extreme but very nice.
I will probably add 6 to my stack for next submission.
I pulled the Ryan in one pack and the Aaron in the other
I am thinking 7 for the Ryan and not sure about the Aaron, it was the gum card.
