One of the things I particularly like about coin collecting is that you don't have to be a Rockefeller to buy really nice coins. Given that, let's put together a box of 20 where each coin MUST cost less than $1,000. Only one coin per person, and it's OK if we have more than 20 responders.

Although this example is only an MS-61 you can have either the thick or thin in MS-65, or both for under $1000.00.

BTW, if you managed to cherrypick a coin for less than $1,000 and because of slabbing (or, if raw, recognition of the variety), it is now worth more than $1,000 that is fine to post to.

After all, one of the particularly nice things about coin collecting is that if you know what you are doing, you can sometimes get lucky and purchase an item for well below it's worth.

Well since Skyman said it is ok to post a coin worth more than $1,000.00 if you acquired it for less than $1,000.00, I will nominate the 1961 DDR half dollar I picked up last month in a 1961 proof set in OGP for around bid.

A picture of same was posted in a thread on my pickup posted last month.

Great looking coins in this thread. For those who think that modern clad pocket change is ugly, I point to the 1977 quarter posted in this thread. That is a very nice looking modern and I would like to give it a home in my collection.
