What'd folks get this week?

Swung by the local B&M yesterday for my first purchase since before Halloween/holidays, first of 2012. He had 2 big signs up, one on the door, one on the case - NOT BUYING CURRENTLY. Folks had dumped a bunch of stuff on him for the holidays to have some money, so he was stocked up. Asked if he had anything Australian or European (he always says no) and he said he did, somebody had brought in some koalas and lunars and some brittanias. He wanted premium for them, $50/ea he said. Saw some lunars, no dragons, and 1 koala. I might go get the lunars if they're in the next time I go and he's set on $50 still. Couldn't tell anything on the Brits, everything was on a wall case thing and I didn't get too close up. I guarantee he paid -$2 or melt TOPS for those unless somebody got him to budge of his usual buy spread.

Asked about my usual onzas and frankies, said he'd do $3 over on the libertads and melt + 50cents on the frankies. About a buck more on the libs then last time, but I'm not complaining when there was some youngster in there watching how things get done and I'm only buying this many (I'm not one to squable with him over what would be under $10):

And ipad camera->snapseed->facebook photos come out smaller than I'd think.

Anybody know where I can find a list of the years on those onzas that have the reeded vs lettering edges? I couldn't find good googleness on that.

1982 to 1995 was 36 mm in diameter. Edge Lettering. I think these were a little thicker for the edge lettering, then when they made them larger it thinned them up a little. That is why they switched to the reeded edge

The 1996 to present Silver Libertads are 40mm in diameter, the same as an SAE. Reeded edge.

I got 3 1993 in this batch, all reeded...? What I found online in various places said either/or on the lettering/reed, but couldn't find a solid date list for the types.

Well, maybe it was 1991 then when it changed. I will check when I get back home tonight. My memory must not be as good as I thought!image

FYI, those are Libertads in your picture there. The Onzas have a balance scale on them.

I know they're Libs, my dude calls them onzas since they say that on them, ha. I try not to confuse him too much when I go in.

    Cool on the Kronur Weiss!

    +1

Yep. That is a great pickup by Papabear. From what I have seen on ebay in the past, the ebay premiums on those Foster bars are well above melt on each of those bars.

My son called me today as he was at NW Territorial Mint, checking the place out. So, sometime next week I'll have three new PanAm 5oz'rs for the stack image

Picked up an Engelhard 1 ozer.. On the back it has engraved:

    S.M. CARUANA FAML

Does that mean anything? Or, was it a gift for someone?

It is all the dealer had left, lol..

I bought it locally Phil, so theres a good chance it is. There's a guy on eBay wanting over $100/oz for it...he has/d like 7 of them listed. They might've ended or sold by now, that was early last week.
