What is wrong with the 1 oz German Silver Buffalos?

Why are these the only bars that apparently sell below melt? I know a lot of people on eBay try to misrepresent silver clad bars, but these seem to be .9999 silver and 1 troy oz. What's the deal?

" This bar contains copper, zinc, nickel, and no element of silver."
Yet on the bar it says .9999 silver?
The bars are accurately, but very misleadingly labeled as .9999 german silver, and the ebay listing says .9999 german silver alloy. Which is completely true.
I knew it would happen.

Those bars are without a doubt meant to deceive. They are one of many fake 1oz bars that have to come to market in the last few years . Buying oddball lots of 1oz art bars in the future may be a dangerous endeavour as more crap like this proliferates. At least this piece says, "German Silver" which is also known as nickel silver. Folks who are active buyers of sterling know right away it's not real silver, but a lot of stackers don't.

Suggest you read a prior thread on this subject."German Silver"
FYI...Nickel silver and Tibetan Silver fall into the same category.
My best advice for getting good deals on PMs:
Cultivate a good relationship with a local B&M, be a regular and strong buyer. If you play it right, the B&M will start to hold your favorite items for you, offer respectable volume discounts as well as cash discounts.
At least that's how it works for me.
Good luck!!!
no silver in German silver. It contains: copper and zinc, period.

Dang, I left out the nickel part! Capt is always right!

Yes, it would be nuked as it states on the bar .999 and it is not .999 anything as it is a mixture. Very
misleading and it would be nuked. If it was not such a short time to closing I'd show ya!
<< <i>If you report the seller to Ebay the auction will be nuked. German silver is a mis-nomer as there is

Copper and zinc makes brass. "German Silver" is typically copper, nickel and zinc, and is sometimes called "nickel-brass." It can have other trace metals.

It will only be nuked if it's listed in the "Silver bullion" category. Unfortunately, Seller has it listed in the correct category: Coins & Paper Money > Bullion > Other

How true.... But that's true with any auction.
