ONLY 65 days left. In an effort to show as many cards as possible I will start showing two cards a day. This will help get through the 1991 Pioneers of Racing Set and will allow for the other days to be devoted to individual drivers and insert sets that I think are important.
Day 315 - 1998 Upper Deck Mark of a Legend Insert Set
The year is winding down so I would like to take the rest of the year to showcase what I think are some great inserts and rookie cards. I am going to start with an inexpensive set (Most under $20 each) considering they are all on card autos and HOFers!
NASCARD RADIO.COM take away: The 1998 Upper Deck SP Mark of a Legend cards were randomly inserted in 1998 SP packs at a rate of 1 in 168. This 5 card insert set features autographs from all-time NASCAR greats and each one is numbered to 220.
Day 320 - 1992 Traks Autograph Series (Insert Set)
NASCARD RADIO.COM take away: These cards were randomly inserted in to packs of 1992 Traks. From the flyer it seems to imply that they were released in reverse order over the print run. It states “This is the last card released in the Traks Autograph Series.” The card depicted is number A1 in the series. There are 9 autographed cards and 1 unnumbered header card.
This might be one of the greatest NASCAR insert sets ever produced. With a great selection of legends and newer drivers in 1992.
So I will show the 1992 print ad and start in reverse order.
Day 321 - 1992 Traks Autograph Series (Insert Set)
Card # A8 Bobby Labonte
NASCARD RADIO.COM take away: Bobby Labonte is only driver to have won both the Winston Cup championship (2000) and the Busch Series championship (1991).
Day 322 - 1992 Traks Autograph Series (Insert Set)
Card # A7 Jeff Gordon
NASCARD RADIO.COM take away: This is Jeff Gordon's first insert card which is also autographed. Who knew in 1992 that Jeff, who wouldn’t win his first cup race till 1994, would go on to win 86 races and 4 Cup championships (as of 2012). Named one of NASCAR's 50 Greatest Drivers.
