Busch won the Cup Series Championship in 2004, the first ever season using the "Chase for the Cup" points format, finishing just eight points ahead of Jimmie Johnson. With a 2006 win in the Nationwide Series, Busch became one of only 23 drivers with a win in all three of NASCAR's top divisions: the Sprint Cup Series, the Nationwide Series, and the Camping World Truck Series.

Sure he's won 21 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races and not to mention the 2000 championship, but who is Bobby Labonte? Labonte is the first driver to have won both the Winston Cup championship (2000) and the Busch Series championship (1991). He also won the IROC title in 2001. He and his older brother, Terry Labonte, are the only brothers to have both won Sprint Cup championships.
The last day of this thread. I’m sure some of you are glad it's OVER. Thanks to everyone for the kind words and putting up with me this last year. I will close the year out with the founder of NASCAR and his son, who in 1972 took NASCAR to the next level.
They both ruled with an Iron fist and did what had to be done for the sport to survive. You could write a book about "Big" Bill France but just know that in the early days he was a racer first and promoter second. France knew that promoters needed to organize their efforts. Drivers were frequently victimized by unscrupulous promoters who would leave events with all the money before drivers were paid. On December 14, 1947 France began talks with drivers, mechanics and car owners at the Ebony Bar at the Streamline Hotel at Daytona Beach, Florida that ended with the formation of NASCAR on February 21, 1948.
Thanks Nascar360 for this. I joined a little late but always love seeing anything Nascar related. My Dad worked for Holman Moody for 40+ years. I'll try to post some pics of my collection soon.
Looking to buy/trade for any Holman Moody (NASCAR) related items you may have.
Lived in Daytona Bch. my whole life and the streamline ureis not a place you would wat to visit in 2012. I just did a landscaping job for Jennifer France, what a house, wow.Dont watch racing but enjoyed your thread.
I too would like to congratulate Val on a job well done!!! It takes commitment, dedication and a passion to share parts of his collection each day --- I checked in at least once a week and learned a bunch about the history of Nascar and the collectibles that are part of it. Thanks for all your hard work and for posting all year long.
