Fair enough, Scott. Sometimes I assume wrong. I've debated in my mind about sharing larger purchases because I don't want to come across as beating my chest, scoring points, or anointing myself a "heavyweight." I don't care about any of that stuff--there are just certain cards I really get excited about. >>

I'm just throwing this out there:

If people think some of the non-hobby related posts, such as eBay stuff, "clogs" the forum, perhaps they should petition for Carol to make a new sub-forum?

Maybe there was false hope that posting such, that some might realize . . . Nah, what was I thinking...

But go ahead folks, take your best shots. I can take it.

  • This thread should be called:

How many people can i take shots at in one thread...

Scott, i read some of your past posts....do you post anything that doesn't criticize other posters?
You never have an original thougt about cards or the hobby, only posts that cut-up others....
Does that make you feel better in your real world when you cut up people in this online world?

  • << <i>

Excited, yes. That's fine. I love it when people share their collections. I don't care if it is a '52 Mantle, a 19th Century obscurity or a 1987 Topps Alvaro Espinoza. If they have a passion about it, fantastic!!! That's what the forum is supposed to be about. Not all of the other crap that it digresses to (this thread being a part of that digression).

However, wading through some of the inane posts that are nothing more than the same things over and over and over and over and over and over and over is annoying. That was the simple point of my original post. I added some fluff to get to 10 (and took a shot at a certain poster that comments on virtually EVERYTHING), but how many times do we need to hear the same eBay questions and gripes? To borrow a courtroom term, "Asked and answered!" >>

Scott nobody is forcing you to open threads
Nobody is forcing you to be here...
If these threads irk you so much, why are you still here?

Maybe you need this board, maybe this board has given you the fodder to cut up people for the last 10 years..

    I think your a sad soul ....

how would a new member such as yourself (joining only this month) know anything of otw's posting history over the past ten years as you state? it is fine to take shots at otw (or any other board member for that matter) but at least have the decency and fortitude to post under your established "identity".

Oh, btw it is possible that a new member could in fact do what Mike claims.

He did after all say that he read some of Scott's previous posts. He could have read them last night for all we know.

I'm thinking this alt covered his bases, and some just didn't 'get it' like they claim.

Some people get it. Some people feel the need to PM and complain about being singled out. Most of those that PM's weren't the targets. Sadly, the targets will NEVER get it.

If you don't like my caustic attitude, I really don't care. If you don't like what I say, I don't really care. If you think my on-line persona is who I really am, I really don't care. I don't need to defend myself or post anything to justify myself because it doesn't matter to me. I can't stop the repetition of the same tired posts. I tried for several months to ignore it and let it go. I've tried to be less confrontational. But, while others have the right to post whatever they want and clutter the boards and pad their post counts, I think I also have the right to call them out. Too bad if some of you don't like it. Too bad if I've offended some. Too bad if you don't get the point.

Amazingly, quite a few have added to the list of redundancies with observations of their own. Obviously, they've understood. But, much like society, there are those that will never see their transgressions, but will be quick to condemn others while committing the same offense (yes, I understand the obvious hypocrisy of that statement).

But my biggest complaint is the clowns that act like they're bigshots and are offering to buy this and that and when push comes to shove, they either can't afford it or end up renegging on the deal (a big reason that I don't really post anything for sale anymore). And these clowns tend to be the folks that are most vocal (but conspicuously absent from this thread) about everything else that gets posted here.

The SC&MF Forum is like a cesspool. It serves a vital purpose, but you have to avoid the floating turds. In the long run, everything washes out and the folks that contribute and share will still be here years from now while the dolts will go away or find another alt to post under...

So, in closing, remember, buy what you like, sell what you like and don't forget to complain about someone else selling it for more than you got or for getting a higher grade than you received... We're all waiting for the next sob story!
  • I got it, I just didn't mention anything.

    Thanks,
