Kudos are in order for James Sego (Segoja)...

AUandAGAUandAG Posts: 25,053 ✭✭✭✭✭
For the BST deal he offered on the Forum. All went perfectly as expected and I ended up
with a wonderful MS/PF 69 Set with Mercanti signatures and all Mint packaging/paperwork.

Good job that deserves recognition.

We expect this from our Forum members and the deals we choose to do. This deal was
exactly spelled out up front with no questions needed to be asked. James came through
just as I expected. I did not expect to get the Mercanti signed labels which were sent.

Pleasant surprise there!

I've never had a bad deal on the BST. Hundreds of transactions and nothing but good business.

Those that read this and have never bought or sold on the BST, I highly recommend that you begin
to use this great PCGS forum now.

I'm in the same boat as AuandAg. Got mine in the mail today. Smooth as butter.

I was slightly disappointed they weren't 70's. I thought everyone got 70's. image

I had a great transaction with James as well image

Glad to see that there is a dealer out there that trusts a 16 year old with a $3k+ package image

Met James a long time ago at a major national show and bought a boatload of PCGS proofs at a great price. He was personable, offered advice, and spent time with a guy that while buying, wasn't a big fish. He didn't know of Drunner at the time, but someday I'll be back and intro myself. He is a great guy . .

It ended up being the best deal out of the several on the BST as best I can determine.

    Gee thanks guys!!!

Certainly wasn't expecting this. It makes you feel good insideimage

This is a two way street. Each and every person I did the deal with here, could have backed out....a couple did, but almost all kept their word. That's what this board is all about...integrity and sharing of knowledge. It certainly works pretty well for the most part.

When I placed my offer, no one had any clue what the 25th anniversary sets would do. I was actually scared about going over 20 boxes, and actually turned a few folks away...boy was that a mistake, but before the secondary market NO one knew what the prices where going to bring. As soon as I saw the market, I kept buying and ended up buying over 350 sets...yes PCGS got em all, and I don't even want to see my $50,000 grading bill. We are selling these sets fairly quickly, and I suspect demand will stay strong and the prices will rebound a bit from the lows we are seeing this week.

Not all the mint deals work, so you always take a risk. Just look at the ATB's. I sold some tonight on teletrade for $190 that I have over $400 cost in. So you win some you loose some.

Bob - You made my day....thanks!!!

I have also had the pleasure of selling James coins on many occasions and he has always met or exceeded my expectations. I also had the pleasure of meeting him at the MI coin show and purchasing a coin from him.

I chose to sell my (5) sets to James for a payment rather than to get a graded set image

Of course all went smoothly,,,,,,,,, but what else would you expect from a fellow IKE guy image

I agree! Of all the folks I've dealt with over the years in this hobby, James is among the easiest to work with, and the BST is a great resource for us all. image

Jim's a very likeable guy. In addition, fair and easy to deal with and if you contemplate buying anything from him you can do it without hesitation.

Forgive an old man for double posting to this thread, but I wanted to say a bit more and didn't have the time til now.

I have known James since we were both very young men. In all that time I have never found anything about him to dislike. That is saying a lot coming from a borderline sociopath such as myself.

Besides being my goto dealer for just about anything numismatic, James has very "lofty goals".
He is a serious mountain climber and has ascended Denali twice and cant wait to go back up there to the top of North America.

That is a mean mountain, tallest in North America, and the statistics say each time you go up there, you stand about a 1 in 30 chance of not returning!

I'll tell you a quick story about James.... I was inquiring about purchasing a particular date/grade Ike and asked him to send me a nice one on approval. Unknown to me at the time, James sent me a dozen in the mail and said take your pick then mail the rest back with your check. I really had not done a lot of business with him prior to that point, and was relatively new back to the hobby -- and it really left an impression. My interest has waned on the series, but that impression remains.

Agree! Was happy to get the set and it was a unique and brilliant business plan. My three-year-old son was so disappointed when I put the set away, he loved 'em.

Didn't sell mine to James, but we did business a couple years back with some platinum. Very fair and pleasant to deal with. I too think its important to commend forum members that we can trust.
