Do you like this toner?

Straight forward question. What do you think of this toner? Yay? Nay? Other? Grade the coin also if you like. Sorry if my images are not up to par. I am rusty as hell, and well you know.. The color is true to life.

Hmmm. Kinda neutral on this one.

I love the look of the reverse with the color mixture but I'm not all that impressed with the obverse look.

To me it's only okay. The toning on the reverse detracts from the artwork on the coin. The obverse is more attractive, but not outstanding.

I guess I should also mention, this coin is ex John Highfill. At least that was what I was told. The guy I got it from said he bought this at the long beach show 30 years ago from John.

    << <i>interesting color! >>

That was my first thought when I saw the coin. I had to have it. Given that both sides are fully toned makes for an interesting story also. I was not around when John Highfill was a big time dealer, but I hear good things about him. The luster on this coin really dances in hand.

MS64 and a pretty natural album or some type of after market holder toning.

Not a moose but it could be any smaller woodland creature.
I think I like the obverse a little better.

No... not at all..... It lacks the crisp, silver color it was minted with.... Cheers, RickO

There is only one person in the world that has to like that coin and that is the owner.

Edited to add: By the way I like it.

I like it--that shade of obverse monochromatic blue is not all that easy to find on a Morgan Dollar.
