I think I'd be happy with a two coin collection

My silver Myddelton and a nice "Value Me As You Please" Higley Copper.

That would be a box of two. That'd make me happy, too. image
Let's try not to get upset.

I'd need a lot more than just 2 coins to keep interested in coins as a hobby.

I am too much of a collector to settle for just two.... I like variety, so dabble in many different coins...Cheers, RickO

Yeah, I kinda feel the same way. Now, I wouldn't mind owning those two coins, along with a whole bunch of other stuff! That Brasher Doubloon too!

It would be almost impossible for me to only have a 2 coin collection but if that were the only choice I would choose an 1873-s seated dollar and an 1873-s no arrows seated half dollar both in PCGS MS-70+ holders with a gold bean sticker on each coin.image

Sure it would be a 1933 double eagle and a 1804 silver dollar. image

If I could regularly (say, quarterly) exchange the two coins with minimal frictional cost for doing so, I think that I could be very happy with a two coin collection.

If it would be possible for me to get down to just two... I'd go with none.

At that point I'm no longer collecting and would just opt to enjoy the hobby via my library.

Mixing copper or silver coins with rubber bands is not a good idea.

No two coin collection for me -- I have too much fun digging through my various SDB for unusual items.

For example, in the past 3 months I pulled out a few Roman ancient coins for a classroom presentation,
a 4 piece set of shipwreck Spanish silver coins to show a friend, a gold $10 to offer as trade bait (didn't work
out, so it went back the next day), and a partial set of wheat cents in a blue folder as a gift to a nephew.

As a collector, I love to be able to locate these types of coins -- being able to hand someone a 2000 year
old coin and watch them handle it is priceless!

1795 and 1798 eagles might do it for me.

    We're all born MS70. I'm about a Fine 15 right now.
