And is there a way to tell its age?
It ways 19.6 grams, magnet does not stick to it.
To me it looks like an electrotype and the host coin was very worn....but I defer to the professionals
edge views and closeup pic's

<< <i>cast copy, very common.....sold at historical site souvenir shoppes >>
Hey Stef.
Yeah, I agree, this is a recently made cast copy made for museums or gift shops. An Electrotype made with any quality would not have those pebbly surfaces which are always found on cast replicas. I know it looks like an Electrotype seam around the edge, but that line is very common on lower quality casts as well, at least in my experience of seeing them.

That's the only thing I was worried about.
The cruddy surfaces. Then I noticed the seam
and the magnet did not stick. So I thought either it was
a crude electrotype or cruddy host coin... Oh well $3 chance

Woolworth's in Boston used to sell these for $1 each in the 1979. I picked through the pile until I found one that did not have "COPY" on it.
