well a little wider search, found a slightly later sale for a lower amount. again, I am not the OP, and want to be clear I am not stating a closing price for his contest. good luck to all, happy new year.

Sorry all, I've been the sickest ever over the entire holiday weekend.

The last auction for five 25th annversary sets to be auctioned off before New Years was item #220924050020; however, the description of this item indicates that the box was opened.

The last auction before the new year of an unopened box of five 25th anniversary sets on eBay appears to be:

    12_31 25th 5 Set Box

This item sold for $3,425 @ Dec 31, 2010 12:45 09 PST. Unless someone can show another auction that closed closer to 11:59:59 it appears the winner would be Agentjim007 who's prognostication was $3400.

Please I/M me if you know of an auction that came at a later time before midnight new years eve.

Thank you all for participating and the great response. Happy New Year to all!

    HAPPY COLLECTING!!!
