Couldn't help myself -- Sorry to start another 25th anniversary thread but I haven't seen another thread like this yet. What price do you think a sealed case of 5 First Strike eligible sets will be selling for at the end of the year?

To soften any frustrations over my starting another thread, I'll make this a giveaway of a 2011-W proof from the set.

2) Please post between now and the end of November your best guess as to the exact closing price found on eBay 12/31.

IMO the answer to the question depends greatly on how the graders view the potential 3rd limited coin in the set (the bullion coin). If the graders decide to notate it as anything other than just bullion it wouldn't surprise me to see $6K for a box. However that's a very big if and seems rather doubtful. Regardless I wouldn't be surprised to see boxes of five selling for over $5K by year's end based on their current trajectory.

I'll go with 4200. It will get higher in the short run but by end of the year settles back down to current levels.

However, I could easily see this breaking the other way if 70 sets start hitting the market and establishing a price and population reports start getting updated. If the rate of 70s to subs is in the 20% range and 70 sets are priced somewhere above 3k you could see prices surge.

Good question. I don't see why not. There's sufficient time between the 12/1 close date and year end.
