I've got a ways to go, but having fun making slow progress.

I took advantage of the quarterly special and updated several with Trueviews.

75,6 and 7 would have been too easy.
Intriguing reverse shattered die characteristics on some.
Note the lower area around the wreath and MM on the 61 and 64.
It's a well documented shattered die, but very interesting.

The shattered reverse Type II tend to be graded lower than they should be. It is a nice MS62

I personally know how hard it is to find ANY 78-CC dime, let alone try for a grading set. The 61 is my favorite as well.

This is such a cool year for the dime, with the various stages of the shattered die, the two types of reverses and the doubling on ONE DIME. The two reverse types are actually pretty easy to distinguish from each other. I have a dream to someday have an example of each of the 4 main types/dies of this year for my type set, but I'll surely have to be patient if I ever hope to achieve that. You obviously have some of that patience to even get this far with your grading set. Well done.

I have a type I shattered labeled a 1878 somewhere, sometimes they are tougher on the no rim T-I reverses.

PCGS is tough on the shattered reverse. Here's 3 that they returned as "No Descision/Refund".

Here is a nice 1878-cc dime (F-102) that I just picked up today. I was drawn to this coin because of the original look of the surfaces. Anyone want to put a grade on it based on CarsonCityGold's reference set? These are tough to grade!

Yes, Buy It Now. I don't think these are readily available in this grade for $159. There are zero of them for sale in any grade on eBay right now, and a specialist dealer wants $425 for a VF. That should say something about its availability near price guide levels. I'm pretty sure I didn't get ripped off.

Re-read my statement, or maybe I wasn't clear but I totally agree with you. These 78-CC dimes are super hard to find (no thanks to CarsonCityGold!) and the price guides don't reflect this. You did very well and were smart to pull the trigger on this buy it now.

Based on those TrueViews, I like the 61 better than 64....a lot better.

So do I ! In hand it's the same - just a much more eye appealing coin.
It was in an NGC 62 holder and I cracked it out before sending it in thinking it would 63 without the holder stigma.
Guess I was wrong.

I'll try a regrade later.
