Markings on a piece of precious metal from the Asian countries doesn't mean anything.

It could be genuine or it could be just a base metal.

  • An idea ........

Take it to a coin shop or jewler or " we rip gold " joint.

They all will have a bottle of gold test acid ( nitric acid ).

Just have them put a drop on the bar....

If it stains blackish, it is most likely 80% silver .... image

If it bubbles green ... it is most likely 80% copper. image

Before you do the acid test, make sure that you nick the test location with a jeweler's file or stone to break through any silver plating which is sometimes added to a fake bar to defeat the acid test and to give the bar the proper look of real silver.

Thanks. I am planning on having them tested this coming sunday. I will report back the results. And my pic was vague but this is the back of a spoon. It is part if a set of silverware. Oriental style with dragon designs. Chopsticks as well.
Thanks OPA for the site - I bookmarked it for future reference.

    Nice!

Using Google translate you will find that silver in korean comes out with the symbol by the 80%.
