There were people on here saying they would wait until the evening, or tomorrow, to order.......they couldn't have been trying to slight anyone so there is no way they could be sold out yet
Nah.....honestly, I didn't think they would sell out as quickly as they did either.....unlike 2006, people are trying a lot more of the networking to get the 20, 30, 50, 100 sets so they can corner the market and flip it themselves. In the 2006 set, the mintage was 250k, and the limits were initially 10 sets, and not as much pre-sales flipping furor or exaggerations.
This time it was huge. Kind of like the Martha Washington 1/2 ounce (which kind of bombed after the first few and before gold skyrocketed) or many of the others recently (ATB 5oz collector coin from the mint).
I hope this one keeps the staying power.....and don't try to mention the "huge number of ASE collectors compared to all the rest". I am aware of it and I am aware of people being turned off over the last few years by the spotting issues and that prices have come DOWN on almost all the ASEs that aren't at the basic bullion spot price.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

NO it only said wait list on the product page. most were just clicking add to cart from the home page not knowing that they were wait listed.
thats why I put up my order # from 4:29 est 38372xxx this is around the cutoff for waitlist.
there are over 30k orders past this by now and they're still taking them. but removed it from the home page.
good luck
I'm not even sure if I'll get that one.

<< <i>My order went through at 5:10 - #38380*** - hope I made it. Was attempting to get through for three hours.

Sorry Jim thats a fail. I think under 38370... is where the cut line is. Do you feel like Tiger Woods?
<< <i>C'mon credit cards! I need lotsa expirations and over-the-limits to move me up that waiting list! >>
I have a ton on waiting list now waiting for all the screwups. You would be surprisied how much goes back into the pot.
Is this a mistake or did that many get cancelled already?
<< <i>My father-in-law just a got a confirmation on 5 sets at 8:45...doesn't say wait list anywhere on it.
Is this a mistake or did that many get cancelled already? >>
As it was pointed out, it will never indicate waiting list on your confirmation#, but only give you a "back order date." You or your father in law will have to check the order status to see if the back order date changes, on a daily basis ... Eventually you may get an email, "Item no longer available..sale cancelled" or words to that affect.

depends on when the order was placed, email might have been delayed. General concensus here so far is that orders after 4:30 PM EST are on the wait list.

would make a good 3130th post giveaway.

Because of the website issues, many people refreshed pages, tried multiple times, etc. and placed multiple oriders without even knowing it.
These duplicate orders will be cancelled.
Fingers crossed.

I had the mint's webpage running in 4 windows at one time!
After reading the threads it seems they went to "Wait-list" after I had the first page loaded but before I checked out. We'll see what happens. I must be early on the Wait-list.
The Lincoln C&C were limited to 1/household. Can't believe these were 5/household.
