    Bravo Tim. image

I bet there are mint cards lurking in those racks. image

    Great Brett!
Nicer than any I've ever had
I agree they are tougher on the big rookies from this set, I've never had one grade higher than 8.
but yours has a shot, good luck

All nice packs gents! I'm surprised so many might rip. I like that Brett card especially since it is clean without print dots or marks. It looks good to me to be a close nine. I have seen
worse. I'll go with the consensus and say 8.

    Jarrod,

As a Phillies fan, the one with Tony Taylor is a favorite. Good luck if you grab Tim's packs. They look nice.

    Tim,

If your are selling others, keep me in mind especially the one with Ryan on front!!image

Thanks, Tony...I've received a few PMs already and sales are pending, and will post again when the sales are final.

In the mean time, here's one for a Philly fan:

Thanks, Jose! I have an Epson v700 scanner, which is really intended for scanning negatives for photographs, as I do some photo work on the side, but I use it for my sportscards, as well. It's a great scanner for anything vintage--from 1920 8x10 glass plate negatives to 1975 rack packs--lol..

Here's mine. No star power, but nice packs. I'm undecided on ripping.

If someone can let me know how i insert directly from photobucket, that would be good.

Here you go, Shu. And in Photobucket, when looking at the page with all of your photos, click on the bottom box below the pic. It'll be the link with [ IMG ] ... [ / IMG ] on each side (without spaces). Did you just have the one pic? Nice rack.

Got my two racks today. Like everyone else has said so far, these racks look great. Here are scans of them. No star power to note outside of the 1961 MVP card. The interesting thing about the second rack is that it has the same card of the front and back of the high number cell. It's very tempting to rip one of these and pull some upgrades for my raw set, but I will resist that temptation for now.

Holy cow! I went to upload the video to youtube and it's over 500mb. LOL. I guess I'll have to reset the resolution on the next one and stick with scans of the cards at this time. I'll post them over the weekend along with the sequencing as requested by the 70s guy.

    Thanks,

According to 70ToppsFanatic's pack sequencing, you missed a Brett by two cards! (#213 Oscar Gamble)

    High Number Cell -552, 460, 519, 626, 637, 624, 291, 575, 533, 596, 623 (Hernandez RC), 392, 619, 419
    Middle Number Cell -360, 333, 317, 495, 273, 487, 356, 298, 440, 499, 485, 330, 316, 329
    Low Number Cell -15, 213, 13, 228 (Brett RC, 62/38 LR), 185 (Carlton (50/50 LR)), 79, 99, 28, 26, 43, 194 (1956 MVP Mantle), 74, 232, 167

I see that the '75 rack that BBCE had for $235 is no longer there. Did someone from the boards(that didn't get in on the break) buy it??

    scmavlscmavl Posts: 1,400 ✭✭✭
OK, I couldn't wait any longer so I ripped my packs this morning. PACKS you say? Yep, both of em. I made arrangements to get one more '75 rack that I will leave sealed (I hope). If you remember I had zero star power showing on front or back. Well, I got a few HOFers:

    image

Not bad, huh? Reggie, Catfish... not a bad haul.

But I like these a little better:

    image

I would've rather had Carter, but I'll take a Rice RC.

    image

The Yount looks great... until you turn it over. L-R centering is rough. And ideas on what that would grade?

    image

    image

So a pretty successful break, I must say. I did video it as well as wrote down the sequence which I'll post later.

Nice haul Jarrod, Tough to tell what the Yount will grade via the scan, but I am going to guess a PSA 8. That back centering will be noticed.

Got my rack yesterday, Going into the unopened collection. Wish I had another 10-12 it was joining. Nice racks!

Hey Jarrod, I'm looking forward to that video. You pulled some amazing cards, congrats!!!

The over/under is 2 to 1 that you open that other 75 rack pack you got especially after these results. image

Matt, glad I'm not the only one not ripping these babies open. BTW, great MVP caliber rack!!!

Thanks Matt. I didn't think it would have a shot at 9 due to the centering, so I'd be happy with an 8. Nice rack, those top cards look great.

Mike - See, here's where I need to be smart and STOP. Odds are waaaay against me getting anywhere near the results I did from another pack. I've done this too many times before and it NEVER works out. If I start to get shaky, I'll PM you to talk me down off the ledge. image

    Jarrod,

Nice cards. I will say 8 on the Yount as well.

    leadoff,

I bought one of the racks a day before I bought these. I was told Steve had about five left at the time and they seemed to be going fast.

No problem, I'd be happy to help. image

You would do good at Vegas, someone who knows when to stop when they are ahead instead of going for that last big hit.

OK, here are my sequences. I didn't write down the star cards except for the Yount, sorry.

    Mike-
Last time I was in Vegas, I had almost quadrupled my money playing Roulette and Blackjack. And it was my first time ever playing table games! However, after going back to the hotel room and having a few drinks with friends, my buddy and I went back down (he was WAY up too) and hit a roulette table. That table HATED us. When I was down to twice my starting amount, I stopped. He lost all but $20!

Jarrod - That's why they encourage drinking. You still knew when to stop though. Self control is a great thing. Jeff, are you listening? image

I'm sure you could guess what type of gambler I am! Almost like clockwork, I walk in, triple my money in the first hour, and I'm broke by the second hour! My game is Let It Ride.

I've been getting better though... the last few times at the casino I've walked away well ahead. My last trip to Vegas I actually came home with the same amount of cash the I brought, and that was after eating, drinking, and a Cirque show!

For the most part, I have no self control. image

Sharp cards, Jarrod! The Yount would have a shot at a 9 if back were just a smidge better centered as just 90-10 is required for a PSA 9, which you are pretty close to..maybe an 8.5

That Gibson is tough to find centered. Great card!

    Aaron #1 looks terrific too!

Lots of star power...I think if you sub these you will do pretty well!

Sequencing for Brett can vary but the odds are definitely in your favor! That rack should be ripped, because if Brett is in there, it's probably woirth more opened than sealed anyway, so you can just buy another rack with the proceeds!
