POLL: How do you feel after a 25% 2 day drop in Silver?

Just wondering how you are dealing with it, if at all.

Not listed... I am just as happy as before... have a lot of silver, and it will go back up. Cheers, RickO

Sell off should not have been a surprise. Nothing goes up forever w/o a correction occasionally. It has happened in the past & will again in the future and should not be construed as SHTF occurrence. Actually it's down 40% from it's May high.

I'm really happy I sold all my bars and common junk silver when it was in the neighborhood of $45/oz.

    Nothing has changed.

I don't plan on trying to catch a falling knife, but I have some cash and I'll probably buy some more silver when it starts back up. I'm not at all motivated to try and pick the bottom.

Somewhat funny. This past Monday, I was planning on selling some silver on Thursday or Friday and then using that money to buy a chainsaw as my dad's is older than I am and a BEAR to deal with. Well, that plan totally failed lol. Now I consider it a buying opportunity.

This weekend I've sold a bunch at a pretty high premium over spot.

Now the question is do I hedge and make a bulk order early monday morning to lock in my profits (turning X oz of silver into X ox of silver+%Y) or do I attempt to avoid catching this falling knife and let it go a bit lower before I rebuy?

  • I feel happy with the silver beatdown because I was able to buy a couple of silver art bars at a lower price at a coin show that I went to in Alabama yesterday.

  • Hopefully it will stay lower just long enough to make the 25th Anniversary ASE sets cheaper.

  • I feel good! I am finally back in Silver, I think it is a good buying opportunity.
Hope it goes under $25/28 by this week so I can add more.

I am sure Ag is headed to $50 again by next year and I will sell everything again! image

At least that's what I wish...

I don't care for the volatility. Then again, it scares away the timid. When everyone is sure of the same thing (silver going up), then you can rest assured that it will not.

Once the masses start hating the metal, it should start to rise again.

I feel pretty good about a 3K trade I made at the top. Now I'm holding a couple of nice coins for my collection, and still have some silver left in the stack...still buying for the next time.

  • I have about 12% of my portfolio in silver. After 8 years of buying and holding PMs, and watching the ups and downs, I'm not really concerned. I will probably pick up smoe mroe this week.

"More than concerned, bought significantly before this recent drop. My mouth is underwater but my nose isn't" - yup

i'm completely crapping my pants right now... don't really have 2 years or whatever to wait for it to come back to $40.

i'd love to hear someone say 'it's just a temporary thing, it'll be back in no time.. that's a no brainer' .... but if i've learned anything from this, it's that nobody knows what they're talking about

We can try to time it, do our homework and wait for what we think is the right moment...but in the bigger scheme of it all, we're just peons that will never know truly what is going on behind the big doors that really control this...whatever you want to call it. We all take a chance, but I must admit, this is starting to hurt a bit.

I'm with CoinCoins in that I bought a good bit early last week that I was gonna sell quickly and got caught with my pants down after Wednesday night. Not really crappy in my pants, but rest assured that my sphincter is puckered tight. I know it's gonna turn around, but I'm not sure if I can afford to hang on to it while it does without pulling from something else.

Not concerned long term. Buy on the way down, and on the way up. Although the past 2 weeks of purchases would have been nice to have cheaper...or closer to spot (my local guy is bumping his premiums).

In looking at the results it seems to me many people are setting themselves up for disappointment, anger and bewilderment.

  • I'm not concerned at all. If it goes low enough I will happily buy more. The fundamental problems that have given rise to the PM bull market are all still in place.

I purchased a bunch of PM within
the past month. I'm getting a
little worried. Too late to sell,
might as well hold and hope for
    a rebound.
