Poll: What will happen with Silver in first 24 hours after markets open?

After the volatility of the last few days, where will do you think the price will be 1 day after open?

Starting spot price is $30.93 per ounce.

Still thinking of what to put in my signature...

I'm going with down because of the margin requirement hikes that weren't announced until after the market closed on Friday.

  • I'm a bear on silver until its in the mid to low teens, but I'm thinking up $1-$4. Comex raises margins based on volatility, so any knowledgeable trader would of saw it coming with the huge swings in the market. Assets don't drop this much in price without finding some kind of, at least momentary, resistance. The silver bubble isn't popping in the next day.

Trying to trade silver is like the 1980's arcade game Frogger.

Derryb has a good point, but the other side of the coin is that any buyers will be more of the serious type buyers when the market opens, not the phantom paper trader types. I see another dollar or two loss on Monday.

Silver will be down, because I bought on Thursday and Friday and did not wait for the "Dead cat bounce."image

The truth of the matter is I don't have a freakin idea wat will happen with silver but I figured since I'm usually wrong I may as well guess what I don't want to happen.image

I'm looking for a bounce at least up to $32.80 but after that all bets are off.

So long as people believe that the government wants deflation look for a brief period when
real money like green backs are the place to be followed by utter and total collapse within
six months. Silver would drop to $5 an ounce and go to $5000 per ounce before the end of
next year before they withdrew the dollar and the survivors used some new currency.

  • I was shocked to see it dropped so much in one week...I think down $1-4 is a good bet

I went into one of my local B&M shops yesterday. I bought a 5oz hockey puck (Olympic National Park) and was ok with the price, even if silver dropped a bit more, but there were a LOT of folks still buying it all up (SAEs were like hotcakes and going 40-60 at a time, as well as some other items). People were still selling their gold and silver ("Sorry, we aren't buying pearls at this time").

I would have bought 2 2011 SAEs, if they had had them, but that was the extent of what I would buy (the hockey puck and 2 SAEs). They did not have any 2011 SAEs (they had a few hundred other year SAEs, couple hundred+ silver rounds in 1 oz, the 10oz and kilo Kookaburras and Australian Lunar (2000 dragon, etc). They were all spot+ (anywhere from +$1.50 to +$20 (the dragons).

To me, see how things went on Thursday, and particularly Friday (I have always watched Friday markets close up a little as everytime I wanted to buy, they would close up for the weekend....only down when I wanted to sell at a show image ).

So, I am thinking it will stay down another day or two.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
