Mr Mint - might be up to part with some wrappers once all done.
Jeff, it is kind of brutal and now the phone email picks and chooses which photos to send through. But I kind of like the versatility of just snapping pics as I go.
Many thanks for a thread on the Topps set that started it all for me.
I was looking at that box at BBCE because I am trying to upgrade my 70T registry set and 8s won't do it for me anymore. However, I was a bit frightened off by the $8500 asking price. Not that it was unreasonable, but it just didn't leave a lot of room for someone in my situation (I expected I'd be slabbing a good deal of the cards and many would have ended up being offered for sale). We you able to get Steve to come down at all on the box?
Best of luck with the pulls. If you end up with any 9s or 10s that you are looking to part with I am interested.
Also, if anyone needs any 70Ts I have about 1/2 the set in 8s right now extra, including a bunch of the lower pops and AS cards.
<< <i>Mr. Gamble is already in a box headed to PSA along with my first submissions ever. I suspect there might be only one other Gamble that beautiful. Hope it is not considered off-center top-to-bottom. >>
Nikk ... I am rooting for you on the Gamble, as it is a $130.00+ card in a "9". However, I measure it about 70/30. HOPE I AM WRONG! Keep the scans coming ... thanks so much for sharing!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
I don't blame the OP if he's decided to keep the remaining packs sealed
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
To the poster who has the 1970 Registry set. I really love the set too. They were the first cards I ever destroyed - my older brother's. Let's how this turns out.
All the Mays, Aarons and Ryans must be hiding in the last 16 packs!
Next time I post, I am starting a new thread. I need a clean slate.
Nikk ... nice cards ... too bad that Rose was not centered, as a "9" would pull in close to $400.00.

<< <i>The Rose and Cepeda are both pretty sharp and the Kranepool and Roland cards look really nice with great centering. >>
The Bud Harrelson would've brought some good money as well if centered. Thanks for sharing, any additional pics would be welcomed. Good luck with your grades. Let us know how that turns out. I've submitted hundreds of 70's, and never a 10, hope you get some.
Here are highlights of the last two packs opened - pack 9 and 10. I opened them last weekend and now have 14 more packs to open once I return home next week.
Not a lot of starpower but, man, there are some GEM beauties. I am particularly partial to the Gaston, Hernandez and Petrocelli. Amazing cards.
Very nice cards. Hopefully you hit a few PSA 10's on some of them.
BTW, I have been working on and off to complete my 1970 raw set and would be interested in some of you dups that you decide aren't worthy of grading. Most of my raw set is between NM and NM/MT. I think I'm about 60 cards short and probably half of them are in the series you are opening. Let me know when you get a chance.

Sorry for the scan quality on these. And also it is unfortunate that the Gaston scan is the way it is because it is really the best of the bunch (along with Rico).
14 packs to go. 260 cards in the series. 240 cards in the box. A few doubles and triples so far. I would be darned surprised not to land an Aaron, Mays, Ryan or Bench. Centering is the crapshoot. What have there been - 2-3 spot-on dead centered cards per pack?
One surprising thing is I have only gotten one All-Star card in 10 packs - a badly centered Matty Alou.
There have been a lot of high numbers, which has been a treat.
Some real nice ones in there. We are all out here hoping you hit a star that is a real beauty.
I was looking at this box when Steve first listed it with a similar idea. However his price was a bit steep if you are likely to be ripping, grading and then selling off singles. Was wondering if he moved at all on the price or if he was firm?

You should drop everything and go to Best Buy to pick up a scanner. This cell phone stuff has to be brutal for you.

Pack 6 sort of blows, starting with the disgusting gum on Wally Bunker's face.
